  • Style and Tone is perfect

As reviewed by Christian Brunelle on 5/3/2010

I needed a jazzier guitar for my high school jazz band so I checked this guitar out. The depth of this guitar gives an unbelievable tone yet it's not dark sounding. It gives me enough flexibility to give the brightest sound without sounding too trebley. And I use this for my own stuff too. I have experienced playing and writing more jazz and blues songs and has inspired me to widen my tone range and different sounds making me a better musician.

  • Great guitar

As reviewed by Larry R on 6/16/2010

I purchased the tri-burst model. Very beautiful! I have a Fender American Strat, a Gibson Les Paul 2008 Standard, a Martin DCAURA and a Gretsch Silver Falcon. This ES345, for me, is the most fun to play. The tone and action is something to behold. I did feel the need to lower the bridge a bit; improved the action even further with no resultant string buzz. It?s such a joy to play a guitar that just feels right. Can?t say enough good things about it. If you want a really fantastic guitar and don?t mind the price tag, buy it!

  • Problem Solver

As reviewed by Rand Rueter on 6/17/2011

I have owned and played Gibson semi-hollow bodied guitars since the mid 1960s. For years I used a direct box to split the output into two amps or into an amp and the venue PA so that I could have a clear channel and an effects side. I always wanted a 345 so that I could individually amp each pickup and run one clean and one effected and control them directly from the guitar. The stereo wiring of the 345 makes this easy. Each pickup has it's own jack and controls. The tone, feel and general quality of this guitar is very good. It stays in tune....in fact, after coming all the way across the country, it was in tune, straight out of the packing box, when we opened it at Guitar Center in Gilroy. This guitar is NOT the same as the Epiphone version, I own them both and the Epi neck is chunky and the epi pickups are not warm or present sounding like the 345's pickups. The Epi is a good backup for risky venues, but not the same quality at all. Considering the price difference, they both are good value for what they are. My friends, who have tried my 345 love the action and tone of this guitar.
