This Is Where It Is At

137 is the best of all worlds. The incredible sustain that comes from the guitar alone takes the place of any sustain pedals that were once part of my board. I find that playing with it plugged straight into my amp gives me some of the fattest tone that I have ever experienced. I bought the guitar because I had been wanting something that could produce a good jazz tone, but still well in a fusion/funk setting. The ES-137 took the cake.

Fantastic Axe!

Ok, you're going to think I'm nuts... I traded in my ES 335, which I had for about 3 years, in order to get a 137. Even though I loved the 335, I found that when I took it out on gigs it just stayed in the stand and collected dust... mainly because I HATE the positioning of the upper strap post (on the back of the neck) and am not nuts about the pickup switch being down by the vol/tone knobs either. Also not nuts about jacking in on the face of the guitar. The 137 overcomes all of these, with comparable (if not superior) sound and playability... I can't seem to put this thing down. Also, for my money the 137 is much better looking as well. Go to your local Gibson dealer and play one... but don't go without the $$, because you WILL want it!

Gibson ES-137 "A simple secret\

I spent most of the last month researching all the most popular guitars, and played just about every guitar for sale in my home town. Without a doubt this guitar out shines all the competition and the best part is nobody knows about it. The Gibson hollow-bodies are well respected and the ES-137 classic is no exception to that heritage. This guitar has everything you need from that clean blues sound to a crisp distortion remeniscent of AC/DC. The tonal range is outstanding. With a few twists and turns this guitar can scream in a plethora of languages. I play it through a Fender Princeton 65 (180watt)connected to an additional speaker cab and the sounds are so perfect for what I like to do with the guitar. I fully recomend this guitar for anyone and any music. Aside from playability this guitar is a work of art. I own the tri-burst and chrome, and I have to take a few minutes just to look at the craftmanship every time before I play. IF your looking for a Gibson and want a sleeper that everyone will ask you about, Get yourself one of these beauties, and rock on!

Great Gibson

I have had this guitar for about 6 mths & LOVE IT! Originally went into GC thinking I?d buy a gretsch (which are also very sweet), with the help of a super GC sales guy, I played almost every hollow body in the place. This one won out because it is an amazing blend of a LP & the Gibson ES 355. The touch is that famous Gibson feel, tone is fantastic ? from jangle rock, punky garage, super clean leads, your name it, you can play everything on this guitar. It is also massive value for the money & looks GREAT. This Gibson makes you want to play it all the time. I now rarely play my other electrics. Buy one & love it.

Tone Tone Tone

I have always been a Gibson player, so when I went looking for a hollowbody I naturally started with the ES-335. There happened to be a ES-137 on the wall as well so I tryed it and instantly fell in love. This thing has unbelievable tone at any volume. Clean, it is the sweetest sound in guitar in my arsenal. Distorted, it flat out screams with controlable feedback that will blow you away. Even my drummer raves about this guitar whenever I break it out.
