One of the greatest instruments ever made, crafted precisely like the original!

One year after its introduction in 1958, the ES-335 settled on its classic configuration. Many players prefer the 1959 rounded neck profile, which is a little heftier than the models produced after mid-1962, giving you plenty to hold onto. The fretboard dots--rather than the later bars--distinctively mark this Custom Shop re-creation as a 1959 model. Perfect to the last detail, this world-class semi-hollowbody is indistinguishable in every way from the 335s that rolled off the line in '59. It's even made on the exact same forms used then.

I just got one. I had no idea these hollow body guitars were so musical. I have several Custom Shop guitars and this has just become my favorite! I just bought a 63 335 as well. The guitars sing, scream, bite, and are just versatile as a guitar could possibly be. Buy one...don't let price stop you. The money will be forgotten once the love is felt for this instrument...

  • Great, all around!

My first impression of this guitar before I played it was that it was overpriced and over-rated. Boy, was I wrong. Now, I don't know why, but I'm a person who likes thicker, heavier guitars, like the original Les Paul's. I also thought that this guitar wasn't going to be heavy at all, but again, I was wrong. It's not too heavy to the point where you can't stand up with it, but it definitely assures durability. After playing it, I was taken away. I played it at my local Guitar Center, which has a room for hollow bodies and more expensive guitars. I tell you, I was in there for about 30 minutes, playing this guitar alone. It was so much fun playing it with all the different ranges of tones, and just the overall playability. It was truly fantastic, like something out of a dream. If you want to spend the money, it's definitely worth it.
