With enamel-coated wire, special Alnico V magnets, and matched coils, the Gibson Angus Young Signature Humbucker provides a 1-2 combination of vintage-style punch and ripping tone that will sear through almost anything. Comes with 4-conductor wiring for series/parallel/split-coil variations. Wax potted twice to eliminate unwanted microphonics. Bridge position.
This pickup was MADE to be put into an SG-styled guitar & cranked through a Marshall, period. And trust me, doing so will give you THE "Angus" tone every time. Sounds good through ANY rig I've put it through, honestly (even makes my Marshall solid-state sound just right), and is perfectly voiced for those gigantic ringing chords & edgy lead licks AC/DC are famous for. Back off the tone control & get awesome Paul Kossoff sounds too!!! My ONLY complaint is you can't get one in CHROME (which stands up to use better than nickel). If you have an SG & want those trademark Angus sounds, you can't go wrong here!
These pickups will give you the ripping tone of Angus Young, you don't need a Marshall amp you can just use a 10 watt and it still rips through anything. These give you a variety of sounds From Highway to Hell-Back in Black- Let There Be Rock- and Problem Child and It a Long Way To The Top. I recommend a SG though which will make it unbeatable.
I am a huge AC/DC fan and I bought these for my SG. All I can say is wow Gibson really has something here. This is the essential piece of equipment if you are looking for the AC/DC sound. They are hot and nasty but yet clean. They do not hum and they are very sensitive picking up every last detail of you music. AC/DC fans a must have!
