  • Simply perfect.

As reviewed by Marc Whitmire on 1/26/2014

I have had an Epiphone Les Paul for awhile now and despite upgrading pickups I Just wasn't happy with the sound, or the neck feel for that matter so I decided it was time to upgrade. It took a bit but I finally decided on the Traditional. My reasoning, besides the fact that it is so beautiful I would consider it a work of art, was based upon the fact that most of the Les Paul's seem to be chambered now and this model was not. In my opinion they are trying to fix something that isn't broken. It's a Les Paul, I expect it to be heavy, and I don't want to risk the sustain just to make it lighter! Also, the 50's rounded neck is great! I normally hate thick necks but this neck is sweet! Not too mention the sound...this is the best sounding out-of-the-box guitar I have ever purchased, bar none. I am not joking, I got it home, tuned it just a bit and BAM it was ready to go. Gibson did a superb job setting this guitar up. No fret buzz, perfect action, and the pickups put out crystal clear cleans, yet still manage to be super thick when you add overdrive. Until today, my Stratocaster was hands down my favorite guitar in all fields, sound, playability, comfort, etc. Although I wouldn't trade my Strat for anything...I think I have two favorite guitars now. I finally understand what my Mom meant when she said, "I love you both equally" to me and my sis. Never knew it was possible. I always thought she was just kidding since you have to love someone/something more than the other...thank you Gibson for proving me wrong! I HIGHLY recommend this guitar to anyone looking for that signature Les Paul sound. It is flawless. I doubt I will ever even change the pickups...a first for any humbucker equipped guitar I've ever owned.

  • Great LP with sweet pickups

As reviewed by Robert Miller on 4/12/2014

I have 4 Les Pauls, 2 SG's and an explorer so my standards are pretty high. I was on the search for a new LP. I had been through 4 before I found this on. Gibson makes a great product but consistent they are not! I say that because the wood is very different from guitar to guitar which I suppose is not entirely their fault other than selection. As for this axe fit and finish were good other than a little rattle in the truss rod. For this kind of cash that shouldn't be and that's why I only gave it a 4.I had the same issue with a 2013 SG but it went away after a month??? The pups are very sweet and it plays great. Mine is honey-burst with a pretty descent top but I wish they put AAA tops on these since it's supposed to be "Traditional".

  • 2014 LP Traditional Honeyburst

As reviewed by Ryan on 6/6/2014

This instrument is mind blowing! No weight relief, '59 buckers, rounded neck. Its heavy, as a Les Paul is supposed to be. The sustain is unreal! As a blues player there is no other instrument I'd rather have in my hands, not to mention that it's STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL!
