Gibraltar's Stealth Vertical Mounting System (VMS) takes a minimalist approach to mounting hardware by showcasing the kit and removing the cluttered appearance of bulky tripods and rack bars spanning across the bass drum. Best of all, Stealth VMS means you have less hardware to break down and carry after the gig.
The Stealth VMS creates a low-profile vertical mounting plane for mounted toms and the snare, creating a rock-solid foundation for any setup. This innovative mounting system works with virtually any kit configuration and can utilize existing tom and snare mounting hardware no matter what brand or size kit you play.
The GSVMS-KIT Stealth Vertical Mounting Package includes a single tom mount and an Ultra-Adjust snare basket.

I purchased this system to reduce the footprint of my kit on stage. It did its job well and everything is solid including a 24" ride. It allowed for better positioning of my gear than I was able to get with stands and I no longer have band members tripping over the extended legs of my stands. Other reviewers say this system reduces weight and simplifies setup time. I have not found this to be true. I think the system (I have both sides of the stealth rack) actually weighs a little more than the stands it replaces. Setup time is a little longer but that may go down when I get a little more familiar with it. All in all, I'm glad I bought it and it really makes the kit look great.
This is simply the cleanest look I've found yet. And it is quick and easy to transport and set up. It has proven very flexible indeed! Can you tell I love it!!!!!
I ordered the Stealth Rack because I didn't want something to big or heavy, but I wanted the connivence of a rack (e.g., fast setup, consistency) After some research I found the Stealth Rack to be the perfect fit for me. It felt like christmas when the rack came in the mail. I opened it and the first thing I noticed was that it was heavier than I thought. But the I picked up one of the main pieces and realized that it was worth it. This rack is so durable and heavy duty. I don't ever worry about playing to hard. I set it up and put my drums on fairly quickly for the first set up. And it works amazingly. The only thing it's lacking is more memory clamps. The point of a rack is to set up quickly and consistently. And since it only came with four clamps for the legs I have to buy more for the arms. But besides that, It works phenomenally.
Just received this unit for my new kit. i have a 24 inch bassdrum, and my old gibraltar rack just wasn't cutting it. i couldn't get the rack tom to sit where i wanted it. i sit pretty low to the ground so, a regular rack wouldn't work. the construction is what you would expect from gibraltar, solid top of the line product. I highly reccomend this unit for all drummers. the entire setup is flawless.....go for it...
I purchase the GSVMS system along with the side mounting system. These stands are great for the working drummer. Both systems weigh about 35 lbs total. That cuts a lot of weight when you are climbing up stairs to a gig. The hardware looks great and the clamps are rock solid. No slippage. They provide you with decals, so you can mark the pieces for easy set up. An extra bonus - the system holds your tom(s) in place away from the snare drum lugs, so your lacquer finishes are protected. No more worries about scratches from! The system is easy to adjust and you can move the stands really close to the drums. This system is worth every penny!
The Stealth rack is one of the best innovations to come out of gibraltar. But it will only help you if you play the right equipment. The positive points are obvious, with its small footprint and ease of setup. The biggest problem is the snare drum basket. It definitely does not fit all snare drums, unless you sit particularly high. I play a 13"X6" snare and the combination of small diameter and deep shell puts the snare level with my rack tom. When i'm playing my funk gigs i usually play smaller shallower drums and this dosent bother me and biggest drum i can play is the standard 14"X5.5".
