they're good for the cost

By Alexzander Doris

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

this is a really good choice for players who want to get a great double cam pedal for a cheap price...i did find a couple of problems with it....but nothing to has a stop bar underneath the left beater, so if you put the beater too low, your left beater wont hit the drum....the springs on this is very weak...just to get the to the level of my old pedals i had to tighten them all the way....other than those little things, this is a really good pedal, once you get used to the feel of it you'll be hitting some pretty good speed with very little one....seriously.

Great Scott!!!!!

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

A few months ago, I was on this website looking for a well priced/durable beginners Double Pedal, And a drum company that makes a pedal to that standard; That's why I chose the Gibraltar Avenger Double Pedal. Like I mentioned in my DW Drop Lock Clutch review, I like options for different sounds and beat patterns. It only took me about 30 minutes to put it together and to set it just right for max effectiveness. Just make sure you have a dual leg HH, in which I recommend the Gibraltar 9600 Dual Leg Hi-Hat Stand W/ Liquid Drive. When I received my double pedal, I was a little confused because I got a different beater than the one in the picture above, but it's all good. Some great features is the Double chain for durability and velcro on the bottom of the pedal and a clamp for sturdiness. So if your seriously considering this product to be in your future drum setup, The Avenger is more than capable for the job, I guarantee it.

Gets the job done.

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

For the price, it's a fantastic deal. If you're looking for a nice cheap pedal that isn't extremely low quality, I would go for this. Don't let the funky slits in the footboard scare you away, though. They don't affect my speed or how the pedal feels at all. The one downside is that it doesn't come with the beaters that you see in the picture. I looked around, and it seems like they did that with older models, but then switched to the beaters that are on the Prowler.

Poor function

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

I have recently been working with my friends Gibraltar Avenger II. I have changed some things amongst the pedal calibration. I personally found this pedal very hard to understand, not even my 600$ dw 9002 is so difficult. Settings are poor. I would not recomend by any means this pedla to anyone, at the worst case scenario buy a yamaha or tama, and at the best case scenario a dw :)

Wrong beaters

By Ian

from Sequim,WA

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

I ordered these pedals because i had a pair of Gibraltars before and liked them alot. I saw that these pedals came with the flat beaters and it even says thats what they come with and i got the old style beaters. For the price these are good pedals but i would have like to got what i paid for THE FLAT BEATERS!

Great Pedal

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

I've owned this pedal for only a couple of days but i can confidently say that this was a great choice. This is fast, smooth and can adjust to how far apart you want the pedals. If anyone tells you otherwise that this pedal is garbage, they're completely wrong.

Very solid product

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

I play light metal in a band. I own a double bass kit, but the second bass drum was being too much to carry around, so i bought this pedal without using it first, and i have to say, this is an amazing progress. there are so many different ways of adjusting this pedal, the beaters even have memory locks on them, and almost everything that could come loose during use has a second screw to back it up. very good product, best double bass pedal ive played on.

Oh No, a 2 Star Review!

By Kameron Bogges

Comments about Gibraltar Avenger II Double Pedal:

First of all, for the money these pedals are the best you can get on specs alone; double-chain, double sided beaters, ect... Out of the box, these pedals were a HUGE step up from my cute little PDPs, which I somehow thought were good pedals before I got these. They were smooth as hell and easy to lay in a lot of power with little effort. HOWEVER, after some problems they have given me I would say that the Gibraltar Avenger IIs are generally unreliable, even after a replacement, and I can't say that these are quality pedals. After a few hours of playing I noticed that the right pedal had some give to it and was not very solid. After looking closer I noticed that the bearing was too small for it's compartment and made the pedal click every time I pushed down. I unscrewed the bearing plate and noticed a very unnecessary metal washer inside which I removed and all was better. Strange...a piece of metal put on the pedal specifically to make it perform worse....I had assumed it was just my pedal, because I had bought a floor model. I had fixed it and moved on. Anyway, about a month had gone by of heavy practice and gigging with my band and my right beater started to come loose in the middle of practice and fly out. I would then put it back and tighten it as much as I could. It kept happening and getting worse, so I took it back and exchanged it at Guitar Center hoping that it was just my pedal. It was a floor model after all. Well, after a new in-box replacement I had the same washer problem, removed it, played it a few weeks, was great...and all of a sudden my right beater flies out of the pedal in the middle of a gig. How embarrassing! I had to play the rest of the song with my left foot! Needless to say, these pedals are now gone forever and I do not hope to buy them again unless there is an amazing deal I cannot pass up...then I guess I would put up with them again. Maybe if the pedals actually came with the slim light beaters shown in the picture and not the heavy bulky ones that pull themselves out, this problem wouldn't happen. I cannot speak for the entire Gibraltar brand, but as far as the Avenger II pedal goes, this is a defective product and you should consider buying something else.
