I had used this type of mmount in the past but did not know if I would still be able to find it. I have a set of wonderful FIBES maple made in Austin with Jasper shells and I had been using a Pearl Opti-Mount system. It is a good system but just a tad bulky. I decided to switch and the Gibraltar system works just as I suspected it would....perfectly. I used a Gibraltar tome mount on the unit and it is GOOD! Highly recommend.

My original mounts bolted directly to the shell, which seemed to prevent the shell from resonating freely (the tom always seem to have a dead sound to it). These rings seem to eliminate that problem, and now I can get the "bwoooom" sound that was lacking before. The down-side is the price - assuming you'll need this mount, plus some kind of cymbal stand mount, plus the mount that bolts to the ring and clamps to the L rod. I wish there was a package deal for a more reasonable price. Either way, the transaction with Guitar Center was good. Prompt shipping, and prompt notification of the tracking number.
