Gibraltar SC-700HA Tom Arm

Overall - a nice piece of hardware for its intended use. I bought this to serve another purpose: mounting an old Jenco lyre glockenspiel on a drum stand. My two caveats are 1) that I wanted to have a 90 degree angle, which the arm won't exactly do. It'll give a notch before and after 90 degrees, but not a perfect right angle. A little odd, but not a major issue. 2) I was a bit surprised that the 7/8" tubing was a bit marred / "impressioned" by the Jenco's clamp bolt. No doubt a regular tom clamp would work without a problem. The glockenspiel is surely heavier than even a large rack tom; that and the single point of the Jenco's bolt is more stress than the tom arm was designed for. These things said, however, the arm serves my purpose quite well at a reasonable price. No doubt a heavier grade of hardware would have cost a good bit more. And since it was designed for a totally different purpose, I'd say it's a good product, so far withstanding my "abuse" quite well, while giving me pretty much the flexibility I was looking for. For toms - buy it! For lyre glockenspiels, it's functional, but not perfect. That'll do pig.
