I bought this pedal a year ago and it's still holding up nicely. Personally, the only down side to the pedal are the beaters. The open gaps in the pedal make it harder to play if you play barefooted as I do. The only issue I've had with mine so far is that its finally starting to wear down the springs and pedal in general. Other than that it's a great pedal for the price.
This pedal handles nicely most of the time and can pivot pretty quickly, but if you set it up even slightly wrong, it starts making a clicking sound and getting choppy. Gibraltar clearly didn't test the effects of prolonged usage on this pedal. Last night, during a gig, the right beater flew out of it's position three times, forcing me to play with just my left foot for a whole song. Pretty embarassing. All in all, buy it if you REALLY need a cheap pedal...otherwise spend more money. Take it from me, it'll be worth it if you do.
I've been drumming for under a year now. I play in a six member Metal band, somewhat close to a Bullet For My Valentine sound. I've had this pedal for maybe 6 months. And all I have to say is wow. These pedals are very nice. The only problem I've had is some squeaky noises on the left pedal and the drum beater for the left pedal use to get loose and fly off after every song. But I took one of the tension screws (or whatever, I'm a beginner ;) ) off of my old single bass pedal and put it in my double bass pedal. It hasn't come loose since then, and I played it for hours. I haven't adjusted anything on it since I got it, it's all right out of the box. For the price, you can't beat it. I'm very satisfied by this product. It glides nicely, and is light. I will be buying this pedal again for my home set, since the one I have isn't actually mine ;).
