Gibraltar's 8600 Series Flat Base stands bring back the classic flat base design with features for today's drummer. A low-mass, flat base design tripod with cast adjustments and Gibraltar's exclusive "Key Lock" that prevents any tripod movement or collapse. Hinged height adjustment with ABS inserts for super lock, no metal-to-metal contact and topped off with Gibraltar's gearless Brake Cymbal tilter with key memory lock.
Gibraltar Hardware now offers a 5-year limited warranty, effective January 1, 2003.

This warranty extends only to defects in materials or workmanship as limited above and does not extend to any product which has been lost, discarded, by accident or improper maintenance; or which has been altered; or which has been repaired or modified by a non-authorized person or company. This warranty does not apply to any owner other than the original purchaser; any defects caused by reasonable use, neglect, moisture and/or temperature extremes, handling, shipping or accidents. Under the warranty- repair of replacement parts is the only remedy, and loss of use of the products, loss of time, inconvenience or consequential damages are not covered.

HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY INFORMATION
If you are a store, please contact Kaman Music Corporation customer service with the model number, problem and warranty status of the item.
If you are a consumer, please contact your place of purchase to request Warranty Evaluation. You need to provide the model number, and a copy of your original sales receipt for the product when you return it to the store. The store will contact Kaman Music on your behalf to arrange for the Warranty Evaluation.

The Gibraltar 8600 series stands are an excellent option for any gigging drummer who wants to cut down on the weight of their hardware without sacrificing quality. I was more interested in the weight factor than the aesthetics, but I do appreciate the retro look of these stands. Like the flat-base stands of the '60s, these are simple and lightweight, with a distinct vintage vibe. The similarities end there. The 8600 series cymbal stands are sturdy and solid, with all the upgraded features that you would expect from modern drum hardware (like nylon bushings, flawless machining, solid, quality wing nuts, etc.) as well as some premiums unusual for this price point (brake tilters, captive wing nuts). I have gigged with these stands several times, and they have been utterly reliable. They may not be ideal for mounting rack toms, or for the heaviest-handed of bashers, or for excessive setups with many cymbal stands where the flat bases might start to crowd in on each other, but they would be perfect for 90% of the gigging drummers I see out there. I have used both the Gibraltar 8600 and DW 6000 series of flush-base hardware- while I love my DW 6000 hihat, the Gibraltar stands are similar quality for a fraction of the price.
This stand rocks. I usually play jazz and it is great for those lighter gigs, but I recently used it on a rock gig and it held up perfectly to my hardest playing. It weighs just under five pounds and folds up to 20"-22". I seriously recommend these to any gigging drummer for any style of music.
I recently purchased 2 of the Gibraltar Flat based Stands at my local Guitar Center in Phoenix,AZ.I was using the old vintage Ludwig "Ringo" Flat based stands w/a couple old vintage "Keith Moon"Premier flat base stands before and these newer Gibraltar stands hold up to those.I like the originals from the 1960s,but the Gibraltars are similar.Not as narrow as I would like,but great anyway.I will be purchasing more of these Gibraltar stands- as they are already taken off the market as of 2010.
