Best known anchor available, and at a great price. I use it with the sharp, pointed tips exposed on my 8x6 carpet designed for 24" BD set-up. I rarely see anchors in use by other drummers. This Gibraltar anchor is identical to the same one I've used since the 1960s. Absolutely prevents creep and comes highly recommended. Some decades ago, Ludwig also made one with vertical points rather than the diagonal points of the Gibraltar, but I've always preferred this design.
just used it last night and worked perfect(added stability) and if your worried about the drum hoop just buy a pearl PEARL protector for a few bucks like i did and you set to go.set the front in carpet first and then bass drum legs..did not move at all for me and thats nice when your doing a gig and dont have to move all your stands just to pull the drum up..AAAA++++++++++
This anchor works pretty good by itself. It is the same concept as the spikes coming off of the sides of your bass pedal. For the best stability, I would recommend using this in addition to the spikes on your pedal. The only downside to this is scratching your resonant bass hoop. If cosmetics are not an issue, and you are having problems with stability, this should solve your problems.
