I was a little doubtful when I first Saw these speaker.I was looking to ad some low end to my small system that I use for small venues I thought how good a speaker could Gemini make.I always thought of Gemini as low end speakers.Man wss I wrong.I am using one with two Behringer 215a apeakers and I have had nothing but positive feedback on the sound quality. The bass is low and tight and fills a room well.I am going to buy another one soon to complete this set up.I am just using a equalizer and sonic maximizer and the sound is great.Get it! Get it! Get it!

I purchased one based on cost, size, and reviews posted here. The purchase process through Guitar Center was very friendly, but apparently phone orders can't be shipped to store. This is important to know for large items like this. Upon opening the item, I was pleased with it's size, weight, appearance, and features, but at this point I have to get to the meat of my review. The item didn't produce any sound. The power worked, signal was flowing (in fact the adjustable crossover is a great feature not found on many more-expensive subs), but no sound from the speaker. I tried all the trouble-shooting I knew how to do, which was everything short of opening the cabinet to see if the speaker wires had come off during shipping/delivery. Took it to a local sound shop and they concurred. So I contacted Gemini, and they wanted me to pay for shipping to return the item. Thankfully Guitar Center knew that was bogus, and arranged for me to ship it back to them at their cost, and a replacement was sent. Which ALSO didn't work. So either I have the roughest UPS route in the world, or the item is of questionable build-quality. My guess is it's a combination of both ;) SO. Avoid this item unless you can purchase it at a store to verify it's in working condition. If it had produced even halfway-decent sound I would have enjoyed it based on the things I listed at the top of the review. But unfortunately 2 units and 4 weeks after purchasing one, I have NO idea how they're supposed to sound.

Not bad at all but not amazing

By Daniel Olvera

from Portland OR

I am a part time DJ who bought this as a way to fatten up the bottom end of my mix and to try to slim down my setup. My set up is two 2-way 12" Yamaha's on stands powered by a 1100 Mackie amp, and this sub. I used this little guy in two places so far. the first was a dinner party in a large 100x 50 ft room with 30' ceilings with drywall walls. The music filled the room and you could hear the sub evenly through out the space, without pushing anything very hard. The second was a wedding in a smaller ballroom with brick walls, still the sound was good but not as hard hitting as I would have liked. still full bass but not the chest pounding impact that a more powerful sub would have given. All in all I like this sub, its small and dose put out more sound then you would think. Another 100 watts RMS would make it awesome. I think the kicker is, for the price this is a great sub.

VEry well Worth it! and POwerfull Warm BASS

By DJ Fresh

from Orlando, FL

I have 2 of them used them twice since I had them. Very warm room filling low ends. Gemini Made a great come back with these. For the Price, weight, and size for mobility, you won't ever be dissapointed. totally mobile. Very powerfull, and very hard to clip, as loud as I had them they weren't even breaking a swet! Great investment for the mobile DJ on a tight budget especially!!!!

LOVE THIS SUB! PORTABILITY WITH BIG SOUND!

By PGH DJ Marty

from Pittsburgh, PA

I blew out a sub at a show and bought this sub as a "short term", inexpensive solution until I could afford something else. WOW, was I surprised. The power, drive, and tone are awesome. The fact that it isn't large made me nervous, as I was replacing a monster sized sub. I now love the fact that I get better sound from this without killing myself carrying this around. Also, you can put it under the dj table, hiding it from view, and crush the bass sound...it's awesome. The safety features offered on it also put my mind at ease. You can drive this without fear of killing it. I am actually ordering another one as soon as I am done with this review. Great job, Gemini, in creating a powered sub that is affordable, portable, and sounds great!

I'M IN LOVE WITH MY SUB!

By DJ Marty

from Pittsburgh, PA

I used this sub for the first time this past weekend at my class reunion. It was at a hotel. The room was 2 ballrooms combined. The GVX-SUB15P, when coupled with my Tapco Thump 15s (now the Mackie Thump 15) self powered speakers filled the room with warmth without being overpowering. The sound was seamless without the seperation of sound you get from some speaker combinations. I am going to buy another GVX-SUB15P so I can use the speaker stand pods instead of using speaker stands themselves. Also, it never hurts to have some extra "oomph" in case you need it. If you're looking for a solid sub at an affordable price, check these speakers out.

Gemini GVX-Sub15p

By TonyT

from Mobile,AL

This sub was not what I expected!I recently bought a KRK 10 inch powered sub that beat circles around this sub! Just when you get the amount of bass you want from this sub it starts clipping! I have 2 Gemini powered monitors that blast the mid's and highs over the bass you can get with this sub. I'm returning this sub and getting back the KRK 10" sub I had even if i have to pay a restocking fee! Don't buy this sub if you are looking for solid bass that you can feel! I followed the other reviews that said it was great but don't learn the hard way like me, please!

Nice Sub

By DjMcPUFF

from www.puff.9f.com

I was looking for a smaller sub to use for a small venue as my 18" QSC was just to big for the event. After looking around I decided on this gemini, to my surprise it sounds nice and crisp, and it thumps the low end very nice. I will be getting another one next week to run on this setup

60 pounds of bottom

By Dj Daigoro

from Brooklyn, NY

Still working on the ideal crossover, but this unit does what it claims. Add 60 lbs of bass to your set up (I use it with a pair of powered Samson 200s for djing weddings and parties) and you WILL feel the difference.
