I bought these for acoustic/electronic drum monitors. They sound good for $125.00 speakers. I would pay attention to the peak vs. RMS wattage as there is a big difference in performance. After purchasing them, I would buy them again because they are what I expected and they suit my needs. If you are looking for a $400.00 speaker you should buy that. This one cost less than the speakers in my car, so I am a satisfied customer.
I bought these thinking you could mount them on speaker stands but I was wrong. the cabinets are made of cheap particle board and don't hold the speaker stand bracket when I screwed it into the cabinet. Now the 1/4" jacks don't function correctly. I have to pull the cable up or down in order to make a connection with the speaker inserts. This speaker may sound great when it works but is not worth the trouble. I wouldn't recommend this speaker to anybody!
I also have JBL, Peavey, MTX, and Community speaker cabinets. This particular brand and model sounds so crystal clear and the bass is boomy, which is a good thing. I think this is as good as the other brands I have. I use it with a pair of JBLJRX115 speaker cabs running a Yamaha powered 16 channel mixer(1000 watts) through it and it sounds crystal clear and the bass speaker of this cabinet is boomier than the JBL 15's. Another advantage of this cabinet is the weight, it is very light not mentioning the low price I paid for. We run everything through the PA including keyboards, drums, bass, guitar, vocals. I'm planning to get the Gemini double 15's version because it is also light and have the same specs and it is reasonable priced.
