Its single rackspace design ensures discreet integration into your rack setup, making this handy recording device ideal for DJs, musicians, bars, clubs, schools, houses of worship and anywhere else high-quality audio recording is a must. The DRP-1 is also great for front-of-house applications, even as a backup recorder for the most sophisticated FOH setups.

For true recording versatility, the DRP-1 features a USB port and SD card slot, allowing you to record directly to a thumb drive or memory card. Or, if you're recording a full band, go direct from your mixer and capture true soundboard audio. On the back, the unit features a stereo RCA line input, stereo RCA line output, XLR/¼" combo mic input and balanced XLR outputs. On the front, the recorder provides ¼" stereo line inputs, a ¼" mic input and a ¼" headphone jack with dedicated volume control.

Good Product for the Money - It Does What It Says

        By SHANTELE

        from Detroit, MI

Comments about Gemini DRP-1 Rack Mount Digital Recorder:

We got this unit for our church when our old CD recorder broke down. It was pretty inexpensive, so we were concerned. All in all it's a good unit, and it does what it says. It doesn't have a lot of features, you get what you pay for...a basic digital recorder. You can't change the date on the file (I called the manufacturers), and it doesn't seem to allow you to makes separate tracks as fast as I'd like during a live service, but it does work well. It's easy to operate, gives several file options, and several options for recording media. If you want something with all the bells and whistles, you'll need to look elsewhere, and I'm sure pay a bit more. But if you want an easy to use, low cost, reliable unit this one will do the trick.

        outstanding unit

        By Dave Cross

        from DJ Cruz Baltimore, MD

Comments about Gemini DRP-1 Rack Mount Digital Recorder:

After doing my research on other units I decided to go with this one, not because of the price, but because this unit can be taken on the road with me, not like my expensive unit. This unit saves me money ( not having to buy CDS every time I want to record a mix ). All I do now is pop in a sd card and start recording. This unit is a no brainer you have to set your record levels prior to recording, just like any other high end unit. I love this unit it's built like a tank and sounds great, Gemini has finally stepped their game up in technology. I have heard some negative feed back about this unit and my opinion to that is, You need to read the specs sheet, and the manual, this unit does what it supposed to do.

        Not worth the money

        By Kevin Nicht

        from Cincinnati, OH

Comments about Gemini DRP-1 Rack Mount Digital Recorder:

I was expecting an improvement over previous home studio recording efforts using professional PA equipment. I ran channels as I would normally, guitars, microphones through a Yamaha 20-track mixer with Tapein/Tape out into the DRP-1. First results were ok, but as time went on, I noticed electronic garbage noise, ticking sounds, generally poor digital recordings. I've had better experiences with Mackie Satellite firewire into a laptop with Sonar running. The laptop had died, the Mackie sold, and I was hoping technology had improved on Digital recording straight from a mixer. I've had electronic garbage noise fixed in the past by using an AC Hum elimminator between source and destination, but this time, it had no effect. I tried different Amps, mixers, and even recording straight into the DRP-1 using a microphone, and the results are the same: poor quality sound. Save your money. This one is a dud.
