The Gemini GVX-SUB12P subwoofer features a 12" woofer speaker with a 2" voice coil and 50 oz. magnet. It also has a built-in amp with limiter circuit, balanced XLR 1/4" combo input, balanced XLR output and high-pass output. Good bass for a small sub. Very easy to transport. Good options on the back for general PA use. I use it with a small set of Yamaha speakers and it added the bass it needed for small DJ parties. Fills a room of 20x20 very well.
I wanted to start in the DJ business and since I am into a tight budget I decided to buy one of these with two GVX-10P's. They sound amazing. Also, I wanted to start with something small. I made the right decision, this sub not only sounds great, but fits well in a small car along with the other equipment. In a near future if you plan to buy more equipment you will still have use for this versatile unit.
I have had this sub for a little over 3 months, I've had no problems with it. This thing can put out TONS of low end it may be small but WOW it has power!
