Gem Sound uses the work "Professional" very loosely when describing this product. I purchased it on sale at a big discount and it still wasn't worth the money. While it did function, the audio quality was so poor that it wasn't even usable for making business presentations, let alone being used for any music work like live singing. The construction quality was also poor and it probably wouldn't stand up to being dropped on a hard floor, which is bound to happen in a bar or night club.
Not too sure yet. Thing hasn't worked. Followed intructions. Tested microphone for first time. Popped and cracked a little. Once in a while a word with come through. Was only 5 feet away. Sending back. Will try to review then if it works.
I purchase the wireless microphone to use when doing a solo with guitar and when doing announcements for the DJ work we do. I has pretty good response and sound come through quite clear even when playing harmonica. I had trouble with the first one I purchase and took it to the store and got another ordered immediately. The turnaround was only 3 days. Not sure how it would work for professional recording, but for the price ($19.99) I couldn't be happier. I wish I had order about 5. I have been offered $50 for the one I have.
I bought this for a quick fix...my wireless system broke the day before a small party gig and I needed something of an inexpensive temporary fix, not having time to find a new system at a decent price. This was the "flash deal" of the week and I got it for $25 shipped to my door in a day. It has some issues but it worked...first of all, the range is amazing if you are using new batteries in it, on fresh batteries I had the signal stretch about 60 feet, and the receiver was in my basement, I was outside. However, If you are using the microphone in front of the speakers, you will pick up random spots of interference...there will just be little places as you are moving around that the mic decides to make a loud buzzing noise. I think the best use for this mic is as a stationary microphone at a podium or something. It actually sounds pretty good. Just don't expect to walk around with it alot.
