Not bad for an all in one, but has serious problems

By Beat Bachs

from Fayetteville Arkansas

Comments about Gem Sound CDM-150 All-In-One Dual CD Player/Mixer:

I bought this all-in-one player/mixer in a pinch for a New Years party where my normal gear wasn't available. It's compact, portable and easy to set up, however halfway through my set the channel 2 fader would cut out causing me to have to flick it around to get it working again. Also, the flip switches at the top are too close together, flipping between cue 1 and cue 2 is not only a pain since you can't hear them together, but also annoying when you accidentally flip the line inputs that are located on either side of the switch. Another large complaint I have is the lack of a decent fly cue option. There was no way (or at least one that I found right off the bat) to set a cue marker within a track. All that said, for the cost this is not a bad buy for beginner or hobby DJ's...though I wouldn't recommend it for any live gigs, unless it was for a house party or something small.

All that I expected

By Sapo

Comments about Gem Sound CDM-150 All-In-One Dual CD Player/Mixer:

The Gem Sound CDM-150 All-In-One Dual CD Player/Mixer is all that i expected. It has tempo changes. The jog-wheel helps me change the tempo and the position of the track. The only thing that is a problem is the loop feauture cuts of the sound once you remove the loop. Over all this great piece of equipment is the best for a starting D.J. with a budget!

Not what I expected

By DJ Elite

Comments about Gem Sound CDM-150 All-In-One Dual CD Player/Mixer:

I thought this production had mixing effects. I was suprised because I expected more out of the product. The price is fair for such a product but it should have better assets. The advice that I would give to you is "Try Before Buying".

Can't get over the price!

By Metatronix

Comments about Gem Sound CDM-150 All-In-One Dual CD Player/Mixer:

I got this because I wanted to ad cd's to my rig without spending much. I picked this up at a local Guitar Center for $149 they were overstocked. First off people THIS IS NOT MADE FOR SCRATCHING duhh, so don't waste your money if your into that, but for mixing it does a good job. The downside, the loop is not so seamless and it lacks cue mixing. I can do without the cue mix, I never used it much before. My old mixer has seen better days so I hooked my decks to it and spin vinyl and cd's. I'm still getting the hang of using a jog wheel instead of pushing and pulling vinyl, as for the push-pull buttons forget it but thats just me. Vinyl is still king in my book, but at least I don't have to worry about anything happening to those records you just can't replace, all my cd's are safe on my HD and back-up disks.

Eh...it'll do

By AaronBliss

from Albuquerque, NM

Comments about Gem Sound CDM-150 All-In-One Dual CD Player/Mixer:

Great value...never thought I would find a package that does it all under 200$. A few complaints though...no mix cueing, when you plug in decks you have to blast the levels to get a good volume and then turn down the levels when mixing back into CDs(or else risk your eardrums being shot), loop feature isn't so seamless. Great for beginners or vets want to incorporate new media into the old vinyl routine and don't know where to start.

DECENT MIXER

By dAtaZniNvAziN256

from Marlboro

Comments about Gem Sound CDM-150 All-In-One Dual CD Player/Mixer:

This machine has a lotta features for something under 200 dollars. It is a great buy, because single cd player at this level cost about 90 to 100 dollars, and a mixer would be a good 70 dollars. This thing combines everything for about 2/3 the price. The cables are all hardwired into the machine, thus nothing can be unplugged, and beginner DJ's will not be confused when connecting things....cause theres nothing to connect! The reason its so cheap is probably because it doesn't have the best quality equipment, and the sound quality isn't the best. However, for under 200 dollars, this surpasses anything in its class by far. Great mixer for quick setup when a back up All-In-One Mixer is needed. I like it, and i used it when i was learning how to DJ, but now i have sold these and upgraded to Axis 9 Cd Players.
