The Gear One PA2400 / Kustom KPC215H PA Package includes the 8-channel (6-mono/1-stereo or 7-mono), 400W, Gear One PA2400 with built-in DSP effects (H73238); Kustom dual 15" KPC215H PA loudspeakers (600820); 4 Gear One MV1000 handheld dynamic mics (H72917); 4 - 20' XLR mic cables; and 2 - 25' speaker cables.
I use this PA in a 8 piece band. We have Guitar, Drums, Bass, sax, and keyboard; as well as 5 vocal mics. I usually run 5 vocal mics and 1 sax through the PA. Overall the unit performs great. In a venue of about 80-120 people I put the main output at about 30-35% and it begins to overpower the band. As expected, because of the 4 15s, this PA is heavy on the lows and mids. This can be heard best when playing music ( CD, MP3, etc.) through the unit. One thing to note, the Aux in does not come through the monitor mix. The EQ options are great for reducing feedback and also great for providing a slightly different mix in the monitors. We're using our old PA system as monitors, so we use the monitor out on the KPC215H. This works great. The effects are ok considering the value of the unit. It's easy to dial in just the right amount of FX for each input. You can also dial in a different FX amount for the monitor out. The PAD button comes in handy when you have a really hot input. We use a wireless mic and the base puts out a really hot signal. The PAD helps to reduce the signal to a manageable level. The speaker cabinets are really sturdy, but the corner guards are complete crap. They're a brittle plastic that started to break on our first usage. To me, this is very minor. Again, considering the price. The Mics perform well. They've survived a few sessions with loud mouthed MCs and a screaming vocalist running around stage, dropping the mics where ever. The mic cables, or rather the XLR connectors, are no good at all. They started to crackle after 2 usages. Overall the unit is great. If you replace the XLR connectors then you'll be golden. For this price and the feature set, it's hard to beat. I'd recommend this to anyone who needs versatility and power on a budget.
