Extremely light weight. I retired my wooden cases as they weigh over 50 pounds. This case weight about 10 pounds. I like the shallow depth for the newer process and amplifier gear. you always need more space in a truck or van and this helps. The back of the case is fully exposed making access to the top and bottom gear great inlike some of the other cases that restrict the back opening. I wish they had an 8 space model but buying a 6 and a 4 will do.
I have a project studio. My Preamp/Effects/etc.. were just laying around the room. Needed a case to hold all the gear. I was thinking of building a rack but didn't have tools or time to do this. This case is just what I needed. Its does what a fixed rack does and is also mobile. Perfect for my needs.
I absolutely LOVE this rack! At first, I was skeptical about the twist latches not being strong enough, but I was very pleasantly surprised when I unboxed the rack. Sometimes, though, I notice that there is about a 1-3mm gap between the lids and the rack; probably because there are only two latches on each lid. It includes screws and washers which are very nice. I only have 2 components in my rack: a (discontinued) Peavey Bravo tube amp ( which I highly recommend) and the digitech gsp 1101 which is GREAT for mostly all effects. I had to upgrade from a 4-space to a 6-space because the peavey bravo has these two things that hang down, which causes it to take up 3 spaces. Anyways, if you need a durable rack, or you need to upgrade to the next size, stop looking and get this one!!!
Ive had this case for 3 years now and this case is great for my gear. It holds my bass amp, tuner and power conditioner really great. I've played some outside gigs and, from the lights, condensation grew on the case but keep all the gear inside nice and dry. I dropped it off the back of my truck one day and it didnt crack, tweek, just scratched a bit. The rails that hold the gear are great and i check the screws regularly and i have never had to re tighten them. Just an overall great Rack case, especially if you gear is not that deep.
I've been in bands for 22 years and have seen lots of cases. I need a case that was big enough to fit my gear, EQ, FX, power amp, etc. and it is suffice. The durability of the plastic is excellent and the mounting rails are sturdy. If you need a small case for a road rig then this is a heck of a deal foe the cost. I would wouldn't hesitate to purchase another. The spacing of the feet may not fit other brand cases when stacking so be aware of that. Case companies do this so you only buy their product.
I've used these cases to haul my amps & other outboard gear and they are strong, compact and have saved my gear many times! The GR-6S replaces those older BIGGER cases.. it's easy to transport & takes up less room!
