Well I knew I needed a case, and after much research, thought I'd settle for this one. I really wish I didn't. First, the lock does not work. So much for a locking case Second, the case does not sit flush, the top pushes back a little to far and the black liner is exposed. Third, the hinges are too loose. Fourth, the clasp locks are way to lose. Holding it empty, the case would slightly crack open. My fear is a simple drop would cause your guitar to come crashing out. This is a very poorly made product. This may sound like an angry review (just irritated I had to wait a week for this, and now I have to drive an hour to my local guitar center to exchange it and order another one) but I'm being honest as possible. This case is garbage, and sadly, I can never trust the Gator name again.
I purchased this case, and then exchanged it for a second one, in hopes of protecting my Agile al-2000. It fits perfect, and is nice and snug. However, when you close the case and pick it up by the handle, the case actually gaps open under the handle. This in not acceptable for any guitar case, let alone from a company with such a great reputation. I have SKB, Tour Grade, and a fender case, and none of them have this issue. This second case will be going back today, and I will be looking elsewhere. If I could review all the GC agents I spoke with during this process I would give them a 5 for being insanely nice and helpful.
Well, I should have done more research on LP cases. I have a '78 Ibanez Artist (that I purchased new in '78) and my mis-assumption was that the LP case would be a good fit, but nope! The Artist is just a little wider than the LP (news to me!). Besides that, the case was great!...well constructed, good hinges, binding, and I'm sure, a "glove-like fit" for an LP! Top quality for the price!
I Just bought an Epiphone Les Paul so I purchased this case for it. The guitar fits perfect. Its well made, and good value for the money.
I bought this case for a PRS SE single cut. The inside measurements were slightly larger than the measurements of my guitar on paper. When it arrived I was very pleased to see that it fit very snugly; it doesn't move around in the least. The depth of the interior is a little deeper than that of the guitar so it sits a little too low in back with the neck raised slightly. I folded a couple of polishing clothes under the guitar which solved the problem. It seems to be a very good case for the price. The closure is good, the top and bottom line up well, and the latches are in good working order. My only complaint is a minor one: the curvature of the back of the case won't allow you to set it on it's end, but must be leaned against something. Like I said, minor. Overall, it far exceeds my expectations for an inexpensive general lp case.
I recently bought an Epiphone LP Prophesy which has a longer than normal neck to accommodate its 24 frets. That means it won't fit in a standard Les Paul case. However, it fits in this case beautifully. Secondly, and just as important, this case protects the guitar well. The fit is snug without being tight - nestles it like a mother with her new-born baby. The hardshell exterior with lots of latches means it can go anywhere with no worries. The velvety, plush interior gives it a touch of class and shows the quality compared to alot of other cases. I also like having the feet on two sides so that it stands secure no matter which way I rest it. The accessory compartment holds what I need - a tuner and capo - comfortably. This is your best choice for a Prophesy, for sure. I'm toting my new axe with confidence and pride in this Gator case!
I recently purchased an Epiphone LP Limited Edition Studio Deluxe, and I purchased this case as well. The case fits the guitar perfectly. It seems to be well made, and the four locks are a nice feature.
My Epiphone Zakk Wylde will be always safe inside this shell. I didn't gave it 5 stars because one opened, it is not so firn in the edges, it separates from where it is suposed to be (not too much) and it has no lock of combination (of course, the price is reasonable for this reason). Great deal, just couldn't find any better,
For the money, you simply can't beat gator cases. This one has a hard plastic shell, aluminum valances, and five latches. You have to move up to a flight case to get better protection. It has a nice lush black velvet interior and the inner compartment is standard. recommended.
