GREAT IDEA

By JAGGED

from PHILADELPHIA, PA

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

Five stars and I'll eplain why....Hardware is typically the heaviest of our gear and collapsable. For this space conservance reason, we as gigging drummers demand equipment that is not only strong but can withstand the rigors of the road, show after show, night after night. The brief history: I recently retired a cheap hardware bag I abused for 7 years or so and I owe it nothing. The zippers and handles finally broke on me after continually over-stuffing it with hardware. Great bag, cheaply built but strong. Upon purchasing my Pro 1 V pedals, I needed something substantial to keep my small investment protected. I went with the medium sized BEATO PRO 1 SERIES that is THICK in the padding with industrial grade zippers. Great, tough bag and I have no worries about it's potential longevity. I initially wanted that BEATO protection for my stands so to BEATO I looked. What I found was with the exception of the RockBag and Gator Cart, is most bags with wheels, no matter how tough their construction, have them built into the apparutus itself. To me, this is a huge negative. A wheel or two breaks while you or your roadie is pulling the bag up a long flight of stairs and you are out of luck. Your bag merely becomes a carrying cart at this point, thus defeating your intial interest and purchase. Enter the GatorCart: The bag itself attaches via two belt style adjustable straps to a dollie stated as capable of handling 100lbs. This means it can be removed...nice feature because the out~rig support of the dollie base is long enough to accomodate a stack of toms should you desire to detach the bag once your hardware reaches it's destination. The bag itself is nothing special in terms of beefiness, especially compared to the BEATO PRO 1 SERIES. It has compartmentalized pockets for spare parts, two handles (top and bottom)and #10 zippers. It holds my booms in one piece, collapsed only once at the center tube and it does so loaded in the VERTICAL allignment. That's right, arguably one of it's best features in NOT listed in the product description. This cart stands completely upright as you unload and load the bag. No more bending over if you don't want to. It takes up literally no space when upright and glides like a dream.........so what about the average quality of the bag construction? Well if you are like me and read reviews of almost every other wheeled bag out there, you read of seams busting, zipper failure, etc. Think about the physics....when you lift something that has 100lbs. plus pounds in it, pressure will be dispersed throughout the carrying bag, especially where the carry handles meet the material. Even pulling a wheeled cart, you are pulling a HANDLE attached to the bag itself, with the WHEELS themselves built in...all pressure, inertia is going straight through your hardware bag. Wear and tear to the max. This brings me back to the Gator bag...it SHOULD last forever because of the dollie. If I want to pick it up to load into vehicle, I grab the two end handles (evenly dispersed pressure) and pick it up. The downside to this is if you opted to carry this up stairs rather than roll is you would need to walk sideways with both carrying handles or have a roadie grab the butt end of the cart and you the top (I would have liked to see a center carrying handle for this type of situation but no biggie). Or you could just roll stair by stair and let's face it, if the wheels do break, you can easily replace them with something stronger from your local hardware store. In closing, I have this thing STUFFED and it pulls smoother than I could have expected. When the wheels do go (seem strong but evenutally) I will replace them...and the bag? Well, because of it's lack of beefiness, stitching, zippers, etc...it is not going to pull out of it's frame. Yes, it's more plyable. Also, it has internal straps for your stands to keep them from banging around inside while in the upright position. I got all into the super heavy duty bottoms on these rolling drum luggage bags only to find that all they do is add weight to your bag, hence creating for more stress on the zippers and seams. Not a prob with the GatorCart. It's strong where it needs to be and that is the dollie support. GREAT product and if you ever have a city gig where you'll be walking a few blocks, this product will NOT disappoint. You can't go wrong with the SKB cases but they are also hard shelled and much more expensive than this...plus, you can use this dollie on the GPCart for other uses if you should so choose. The Rockbag has complaints of wheels breaking and very soon after purchase....no such thing with the GatorCart. Well done.

Outstanding

By Trav

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

Unfortunately, being in the local music scene for almost 10 years now, I've spent countless hours packing and moving drum hardware. It's my least favorite part of being in a gigging band. But this bag by Gator has made life WAY easier. It fits every single stand I use in my setup, including the hi-hat....with room to spare. The pockets in the side and the top fit an array of sticks and accessories; all of mine, including a cowbell setup. Hands down, one of the best purchases I've ever made.

Best bag ever!

By Kerry Sneed

from Frisco, TX

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

I'm always looking for better ways to haul and/or setup my gear and I think I have found the solution. This best is far the best bag I seen on the market. Easy handling of your hardware without the constant bending over loading and unloading your hardware. Makes me feel even more professional when I roll up to a event and can make 1 trip from my car to the venue. Easy on your back and lots of storage. You have to get one!

Big, Durable, and A Great Value

By Dan Cruz

from El Paso, TX

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

I finally got fed up with making multiple trips to load and unload drum hardware from my car, so I did researched my options and decided on the Gator bag with Wheels. The wheels are big enough to allow you to move up steps or over 'rough terrain' without too much strain. Multiple external pockets give you somewhere to carry all those little extras, and handles conveniently placed on every side make loading in and out of a trunk or back seat a manageable affair. NOTE: the bag is big and can carry a TON of hardware, so keep in mind the weight factor and that you may have to lift it up to load or unload it. I've loaded two kits worth of stands into it and just about killed myself trying to pick it up. But that would have been the same issue if it were any other type of case. I've had it a year now and have taking it to dozens of practices and gigs and so far it's holding up well. No rips, tears, fading, or broken zippers. A good investment.

JUST BUY IT

By Matthew

from Hartford, CT

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

Tell you what, if you have no use for hard cases this is the hardware bag to buy. I've been using mine for almost 3 years now and it is still saving my life. I pack (3) tama roadpros, heavy duty double tom stand, hi-hat stand, accessory clamps, stick bag, floor tom legs, and other small parts and this thing gets HEAVY!! All of that weight - 40 gigs per year for the last 3 years, and it's still going strong.

Great Hardware

By Zach Dresser

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

Great size, durable construction and lots of spots to put boom arms, clamps, beaters, etc. The large wheels and frame make it easy to get around even up and down stairs. My one complaint, and it's relatively minor: there is nowhere to put a throne seat. Every throne I have has about a 13" diameter seat and there is nowhere in this bag to put it. So, I can fit every piece of hardware in here, have my drums in cases, but I'm always carrying my seat separately.

Making my life easier!

By Tommy Gallegos

from Olympia, Washington

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

Nice hardware case allowing me to use another arm to load something else in thus subtracting another trip to the rig for load in and load out. Not only odes this case allow for less trips but it also shows other musicians in a subtle way that you are legit and care about your gear. In the major compartment of this case I am able to secure 2 cymbal boom stands, timbale stand, bongo stand, 2 microphone boom stands, 4 "LP Claw" hardware accessory and I still have room to spare. The top pocket is nice allowing me to secure 4 - 20' XLR mic cables as well as a 20' long 1/4" cable. There is room on the side pockets for even more stuff. The dolly that the case is attached to is light weight but strong enough to handle the weight of your hardware you secure inside.

Better than expected

By Braulio Diaz

from PR

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

This bag is way better than expected. It holds up to 5 stands (hi hat, boom, 2 straights, snare stand), tom holder, floor tom legs, drum clamp, and other hardware like felts etc, and there is still space left; I even had space to put a practice pad on one of the bags! The wheels are awesome, makes the bag so much easy to carry. And the cool thing with the wheels are that they are scooter type of wheel, so if they break, I can go a surf shop buy the same wheels and replace them! Very sturdy, but heavy bag if you fill it. It holds so much weight, that I can hitch over two toms (with the strap, they are in bags aswell) and carry them with no problem. Overall is a great product, I think a little too overpriced but it's worth every penny.

LOVE my Gator hardware cart!! A++

By Troy Edlin

from Louisville, KY

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

What can I say that hasn't already been expressed in the reviews left by others? I just wanted to add to the pile of 5 star reviews. This drum cart is vey durable and holds a ton of gear. Getting all my hardware to the stage (minus my kick pedals and drum throne) to the stage in one trip is such an amazing thing. Plus, once my gear is transported, I can unstrap the bag and use the hand cart to help transport heavy amplifiers. I love it and recommend it to all gigging drummers.

Must buy for any frequently gigging drummer.

By Jon Sudano

from Blackwood, NJ

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

I've pulled my hair out on more than one occasion trying to figure out a way to get my hardware safely to and from gigs without breaking my back, hurting my hands or straining my legs. I've tried making my own hardware transport system with a cooler and dolly, but it just didn't work out. This drum bag not only makes my life easier but keeps my hardware safe. I was skeptical to think that it'd fit 3 straight stands, a hihat stand, throne stand and 2 basket snare stands, my sticks, practice pad and all other tuning and access amenities, but Gator did a great job in proving me wrong. This case is awesome. I love how sturdy it feels and how it stands upright with a solid back and bottom, and has the option to load in from the front or from the top so you can load in/out without having to bend over. The two side pockets fit all my sticks, and rolling it around feels really smooth and light. I carry almost 100 lbs of heavy metal hardware in this thing and it feels like I'm strolling a baby around. The inline wheels glide seamlessly over rough terrain and the dolly feels very sturdy. The only issue I have is that the base near the wheels feels like it bends if you pack too much inside. I'd advise if you buy this thing please know going in that if you have a dozen stands and a bunch of other stuff, maybe consider buying a road case. But for someone who drums and plays local gigs and goes on tour frequently with a couple of stands for 2 crashes, a ride and pair of hihats, this works very well for me. It fits in the back of an SUV or van easily, but will probably take up an entire back seat of a regular sedan, because it's about 4 ft tall. As a backup plan you might need some extra screws and nuts in case one of the wheels pops off, but if you take care not to overpack it you should be fine. I recommend this to any drummer who gigs frequently and hates lugging his or her hardware around by hand. It's easily one of the best investments I've made case-wise.

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

I bought this bag over 5 years ago, and just wanted to leave a review because of how easy it's made my life gigging. Still rolls smoothly, still carries my heavy hardware easily, and it makes transporting hardware so much better. Only flaw is one of the side pockets has ripped open over time. But that should be as expected with use. I have probably played over 150 shows with this thing and it's holding up great. I highly suggest this!

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

This is a back saver, not just for moving the bag around but loading it at the end of a gig . I had another similar bag but had to load it on the floor and drag it around like a dead body.At the end of the night 100lbs feels more like 150+ , This one is the best! great design keep up the good work in R&D , Jimmy N

      Durable, Complete (nearly) Solution

      By Robert Incorvati

      from Akron, Ohio

Comments about Gator Drumcart Hardware Bag:

Fantastic transfer case. Worth the investment. Period. Had it about a year and despite getting quite heavy when loaded the canvas material, zippers and even wheels held up magnificently. This bag moves smoothly, opens, closes and secures easily (the large gauge zippers are as smooth as glass and perfect for the task - the smaller gauge zippers on my Tuxedo Bags occasionally fight me for example). I agree with Zack's assessment regarding fitting the throne cushion. I have to carry mine in a small duffel that I also use when gigging. But, man, that's the only negative - and that's largely b/c I stuff a good bit of hardware in this Gator bag. I have (snuggly) fit the seat top in the Gator when I take a smaller version of my kit. This is a well thought out case design and, despite getting heavy when loaded, has held up nicely. Already decided when I get too old to lift it as currently loaded, I'll buy a second...
