This Gator stand is a simple, affordable place to place your studio monitors or speakers. Each has a 10" x 10" monitor perch, and has some assembly is required.

this is, without a doubt, the worst product on the market. i am astounded that no one else has tried to warn people about buying this product. pros : - decent price cons : - you must assemble this yourself. i would understand this if they gave you quality materials to do this with. In my package, I received 4 wooden blocks (2 with rubber feet), 2 hollow beams and 16 wooden pegs to connect everything with. the pegs I received with this left a 1/4" gap between each platform and the beam. this made for a very unstable and unusable piece of furniture. - shipped very poorly. i received the stands with blemishes that were the product of poor packing in a thin cardboard box. i don't know about you, but i'm not about to place $200 monitors on something that could fall over.
Once made (and modified), these stands work just fine, but straight out of the box, they're useless. They only have dowels to hold the top and base to the main support. 3 of the 4 holes line up, the other does not (both top and bottom). With just the dowels, they're unstable. As for filling them with shot or sand, forget it. As soon as you try to move the stands, you'll have an ugly pile of shot/sand on your flooring. I drilled 8 countersunk holes top and bottom and attached the plates to the support with screws (and Gorilla glue on the bottoms). Now they're great (apart from the finish, which still leaves something to be desired - oh well). If you're handy with tools, then these are a worthwhile buy. If not, then stay away!
