This is a great case for the money. I have 3 right now, I bought one for my son and daughter for their Strats. I just bought another for my Fender Blacktop Tele, I like that its light and has a big storage area with a lid. Nice plush interior and padding. I prefer cases over gig bags and for my needs this case fits the bill.
I've had many guitar cases over the past years, some rather expensive. Recently, I was looking for another case which would offer adequate protection for my Stratocaster when I didn't need it to endure high abuse, such as airlines, multi-equipment loading into vans, etc. I saw this case on the Guitar Center's website, took a chance, and ordered it "sight unseen". I'm glad I did! This case is more than I had expected. Great fit, strong latches, plenty of protection for the times I want to toss it in my car for short trips. Price was very reasonable. I have to play around with the latch lock and key a little to get it to work properly, but it does work. I didn't buy this case to lock up my guitar, so this is not a big issue to me. If you're not going to be subjecting your guitar and case to severe punishment, this would be a wise choice!
It's definitely not one of those super nice Fender cases. I put my Telecaster in it and it fits snugly, but the top will barely close. I'm starting to worry about that stress on my guitar. Also, it does not seem to offer all that much protection. It's certainly better than nothing, but it's a bit flimsy. If you dropped it, I couldn't say for sure that it would protect your guitar, whereas some of the nicer cases, there is no doubt. Also, the latches have a tendency to just come open by themselves, so if you dropped it, the guitar will suffer some damage and may very well even fall out and roll across the pavement, etc. It's not bad for the $, but if you can afford it, I would probably buy a nicer case for your better guitars. If you have a Squier, etc that you want to protect, but not worth buying a case the price of the guitar, this will do just fine!
