I have the medium bag, and must say, the bag itself is made very well, and pretty tough. The ridiculous thing about this product is that the shoulder strap is connected to the bag by a piece of plastic. I was carrying my hi hat stand, along with two lightweight boom stands, and the strap snapped in half, letting the bag fall down a flight of stairs. When I opened the bag, the rod on my hi hat stand had broken in two. I don't understand how you could spend so much time and money on the bag, and skimp on one of the most important features. No more Protechtor products for me!
I like the small pocket at end of the bag. It's handy for drum keys, etc... The bag itself is very sturdy and held all off my hardware. It holds all the weight I want to carry. Nice bag, especially for the price.
This is great case, it's not very padded, but for stands and such you don't need much padding, just something durable to hold them. While it does that wonderfully, you may want to think first of the weight. Think about how much one stand weighs, not too much, now image 5, 6, drum stool. It all adds up. I recently traveled to New York to play and only needed two stands and my throne. We had a couple blocks away, and let me tell you, lugging this thing around New York was horrible. It was extremely heavy! While it's a great case, you should also think about getting one with wheels as that would make traveling MUCH easier. Just something to consider...
