I bought this case for my son who will not go anywhere without (one of) his guitar(s)and trashes his guitar cases. He travels with it as well as gigs, etc. He has been able to charm the airline check in people to let him take it on the plane as a carry on where they will store it up front for him, but I'm sure that won't always work and NO ONE wants to check a guitar as baggage. The TSA latches are a huge perk. He loves it.
I bought this case a week ago for my hummingbird and when i got the case i tried to put it in. The body fits but the neck on my hummingbird is to long for the case.
We purchased two gator cases for our trip to South America this summer. We needed to take two acoustic guitars, in the mid to upper range in price, so we really needed high quality cases. I looked locally in out Guitar Center store and did not find anything that I felt would withstand the rigors of air travel. I asked the salesperson about Gator cases and he informed me they were available online. A friend had recommended Gators, so I went ahead and purchased them blindly. Both guitars fit perfectly in the case, with essentially no wiggle room. We flew roughly 10,000 miles during this trip, checking the guitars as baggage, and the guitars and cases survived with no issues. I would highly recommend these cases for anyone that needs to ship guitars as baggage.
