Overview

The Neo 212-II bass cabinet from GK's Artist series is now lighter and smaller than ever before-is a front-ported cabinet housing 2 custom-designed cast-frame neodymium 12" loudspeakers which deliver high sound output at a fraction of the weight of conventional speakers. A Paragon horn tweeter delivers your top end with brilliance and clarity.

The Gallien-Krueger Neo 212-II performs beautifully, with consistent response from top to bottom, plenty of definition in the highs and midrange, and a fat low-end. It switches between standard full-range operation or biamped with GK's biamp system. Both Speakon-style and 1/4" connectors are provided. The Neo 212-II bass speaker cabinet is constructed from rugged 11-ply poplar, wrapped in heavyweight Tolex, and fitted with sturdy, interlocking corners and a 16-gauge steel grille. 600W power handling. 8-ohm impedance.

    Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 212-II 2x12 600W Bass Cabinet:

The rear control/input panel vibration is not audible to the audience so this is only a minor annoyance. I have not taken it apart to solve the issue - it's that minor (note: this is an older unit that I purchased used, but in beautiful condition). Everything else about this cab is as advertised. It projects surprisingly well for a sealed 2x12. Balanced sound, including low B. Easy one person carry, though the folding handles can pinch your hands if not careful. Love the sound of GK heads and this cab is a worthy partner.

      Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 212-II 2x12 600W Bass Cabinet:

I bought one of these almost 3 years ago.. It was a decent product that needed some design changes. Like the line out pins were positioned so that the cable release was up against the cabinet and needed to slide a pick between them in order to release it. Then the electronics started to buzz. It was repaired 2 times and the motherboard replaced but still it crackled and buzzed. (I found out why).
I will say the company was helpful and reliable as far as returns and warranty. No issue there.
since it could not be fixed they offered to send me the updated model for $100.00 plus shipping.
The new model rotated the pins and the cable releases as it should now. They added a line in so now I can plug in my phone and listen to my music and play along. Also added a head phone input.
Now, the WARNING.......DO NOT.... I REPEAT, DO NOT...PLACE YOUR CELL PHONE ON TOP OF THIS UNIT OR IT WILLL WIPE OUT THE ELECTRONICS IN SHORT ORDER.
They could use an upgrade and shield them to correct this I guess, but other than that, I can highly recommend this GK 2-12. My unit from last year was only 500 watt..which is way more than you'll need but the upgrade to 600 is always nice. And it is the same price.
I use mine for gigging out and it can easily cover a medium to large size room. Plus there a line out with a pass button.

      Love this Cab!

      Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 212-II 2x12 600W Bass Cabinet:

Wow, I ordered this to go with my new 1001rbii. I had no idea how a 212 would sound since I've always played through 410 cabs. Definitely don't regret going with the 212. This thing has shaking lows and crisp highs. A very complete sound. I'll tell you right now that this cab alone blows my 600w 810 set up I had. This cab really brings out the GK growl in my opinion. Just to throw this in here, I'm a 5 string player. I cranked the bass on my bass, the amp and dropped my B string to A... It was amazing. Get this cab!!!!

Exactly what I was looking for

      By Eric Walker

      Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 212-II 2x12 600W Bass Cabinet:

I had played a 2x10 for many a years because it kept weight down. However, it never had the complete low end I hoped for. Upgrading to this NEO212 met the best of both worlds! It's lighter than my old 2x10, as well as got a more complete range in the low end. My is powered by an Ashdown ABM Evo III 510. Sounds great to finally be able to push the head some. The HF horn in it sounds good too. The folding handles are nice and well placed. Very easy to carry.

      Great Sounding Cab!

      By TOM HICKS

      Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 212-II 2x12 600W Bass Cabinet:

This is the most versatile Cab I have owned! I started out using it with a GK 700RBii, and it sounded solid with that...But I recently got a Traynor YBA-300 that I have been using with this cab. I love the tone, it is so much more clear than with the GK head. Whether I am at low, or high volume, what I play is what I hear! Oh and did I mention very light?? Good luck finding a better all around cab in this range!

      Totally Awesome

      Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 212-II 2x12 600W Bass Cabinet:

I'm writing this review about this Gallien Krueger sound system. Presently I own the ultra light Gallien Krueger combo amp unit which is 200 watts. Right now, I've been playing bass for appr. 3 years. First learning some old school, classic rock, but mostly I play Gospel music for my church. Absolutely love it. The ultra light has been a great amp because of it small size and power and sound. This past weekend, I got the opportunity to play at another church to support another musician. When I walked into the sound pit, the bass player there hooked me up with a GK 600 watt bass cabinet with 4 tens and a 1001RB amp. Of course up to this point I had no idea what I was about to hear or feel with this set up. In the first 30 seconds of playing, I was in awe of the sound quality and power this system had. Instantly feel in love. NOW I have to get me one of these set ups. I've already looked into the Neo cab with the 2 12's and a 1001RB. Man I can't wait to get my own. Thanks Gallien Krueger for making such awesome equipment.

      Gallien-Krueger Neo 212-II 2x12 600W Bass Cabinet

      Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 212-II 2x12 600W Bass Cabinet:

Cabinet arrived as advertised. After a couple of practice sessions I used the cabinet for a gig. This was a medium size hall (about 300 people). The speaker sounded excellent and I received many compliments from the band! Lightweight design is huge plus.

      Great all-around cab

      By hd

      Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 212-II 2x12 600W Bass Cabinet:

The GK 212 Neo is something of its own animal: it doesn't sound like 10's, nor does it sound like 15's. But taking this cab in its entirety, it's great. It has a really good sound: it's beefy, but not so thick as a 4x10; it's deep and smooth, but not as barky as a 15. The size, weight and power handling are the real tipping points. Easily handled by one person in and out of cars, this cab can actually be lifted with one hand, and it handles 600W (most amps don't even make that much). It comes with casters! Another kicker: It's really efficient, which means it's LOUD. Unless you're looking for a really specific sound, the GK 212 Neo is a fine cab, well-built, and definitely worth the money.

      Big Sound, Small Package

      By Finger Play

      Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 212-II 2x12 600W Bass Cabinet:

This is an awesome cabinet for the money, very light, easy to move around, but huge in sound. Provides very full tight low end, mids are punchy and solid, high end is clean. Cabinet has option for bi-amp for more high end clarity, or full range for more classic fuller bass sound.

      Decent

      By MikeyB

      Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 212-II 2x12 600W Bass Cabinet:

Great cab for the price. I compared this with my Bergantino 210, and decided to send the GK212 back and go with another Berg 210. The Bergs have more focus in the mids, the GK more polite.
