Problematic!

By Jonathan Ferrone

from Mahwah, NJ

Unfortunately I have to give this amp a bad review. It blew out on me about 6 months after I bought it (used from GC) and repairing it would have meant basically replacing the whole thing. I have also owned the 115 combo and the 212 combo. The 212 had a similar problem and was returned under warranty and I sold the 115 out of fear. These are great sounding amps, but I think there is a lot of poor build quality going on here. I have switched brands and will not be buying any GK equipment in the future.

Big bang for the buck.

By Robert Wilson

from Sacramento, CA

Excellent small lightweight bass combo amplifier for the amount of money spent on it, especially when the sound can be magnified with additional GK powered speaker cabinets daisy-chained to the main combo. Given the small footprint of the cabinet, one could have a relatively lightweight, mobile and powerful 4X12 800 watt (RMS) bass system that can be disassembled into four cabinets weighing about 30 pounds each and capable of fitting into a compact car. Actually, rated at 4.5 Stars because not enough time has passed to rate any reliability issues...but, GK is GK and there are several factors of their strengths that keep GK present in the long-term, with reliability being one of those factors.
