Killer Amp

By Todd

from Webster, Ma.

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Backline 110 Combo:

When I plugged into the Backline 110 combo amp for the first time I was amazed to hear such a huge sound coming from such a small amp. I play METAL for the most part, and I am primarily a guitarist. But, I like to play bass for fun. I bought a Fender P bass to jam on and I was looking for a little amp to jam on at home. What I ended up with was far more then I even expected. The Backline 110 has a nice crisp sounding "clean" channel. The three band EQ. adds tons of bass and really sharp sounding treble and middle settings. The contour feature adds a great amount of texture to the tone. The "dirty" channel sounds amazing. The distortion on this little amp crushes. I would usually use a distortion pedal to get such a heavy sound, but with this amp I don't need one. I actually turn down the gain pretty low to cut the feedback. Which is strange because I love feedback. Anyway I love the amp and I would recommend it to any bass player, no matter what style music they play.

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Backline 110 Combo:

This is a great amp for home practice .the size is small enough to store in the closet when not in use.the power is adequate for even a small room performance.the only thing i don't like is the distortion channel,it sounds terrible!the clean channel is great though.it will shake your walls if you turn it up.overall a great little amp!

I love this amp!

By oddestfellow

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Backline 110 Combo:

I brought back my Fender Rumble 25 because it was having issues with a weird vibration when I played it for more than 45 minutes or so. I swapped it out for this amp and the sound and quality is like day and night! It doesn't have all the features that the Fender had (RCA input, Active input & the stupid LED's), but the overall quality is just better. If you're looking for a great practice amp that you can use for gigs at small rooms, check this one out!

Best Practice Amp!!!!!!!!

By AerodyneBass

from Vista, California

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Backline 110 Combo:

When I first heard Duff Mckagan from Velvet Revolver and Guns N' Roses I loved his bass sound. I noticed he was playing Gallien Krueger amps and I went out and bought one. This is the best practice amp because of all its features like the Gain/Overdrive channel, the -10db switch, the contour switch, and the tone nobs are so versatile that you can get any tone you want and i prefer Duff Mckagans Velvet Revolver and GN'R tone!!!!!!!!!!I love this amp!!!!!!!!

SIMPLY, AN AWESOME LITTLE AMP

By wisconsinrivermike

from Skokie, IL

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Backline 110 Combo:

I have been performing/playing guitar for forty years. Just bought a Washburn Force 4 bass three weeks ago to lay down my own recording tracks. Now, I'm pretty much hooked on the low end! I needed a small, portable, practice amp. This one weighs in at 30 lbs. I looked at Peavey, Yorkville, Ampeg, Fullerton, etc. all with a 10 in. speaker and this amp had the best features for the wattage, 70 watts. The -10 dB pad switch for active pickups is a plus. The mid contour switch really helps focus the tone. The bass and treble controls are very effective. Just small increment changes are noticeable. Haven't used the distortion channel. There is only one speaker out for the internal speaker. Would be a 5 on features, but is doesn't have an additional speaker out. The line out (1/4 in.) is nice because you could get away with this in a small club as a monitor and feeding the PA. This is a surprisingly loud amp for its size. I haven't been dissapointed with this amp.

Awesome Amp!

By patstar528

from North Smithfield, RI

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Backline 110 Combo:

When I bought this amp, i was upgrading from a 15w Fender Frontman amp. i haden't owned a bass amp before this, and i was only a beginner when i purchased the amp. the second I took it out of the box, i cranked it to about 3/4 the way up and it was shaking shampoo bottles off of the bathroom wall 1 room over. This amp is awesome, and when I'm practicing with my friends I keep up with a drum set, and a 25w fender amp on full blast with out maxing out the amp. The contour on this amp makes any bass sound funky and awesome. the only thing i didnt really like was the over drive. it was kinda cruddy but I'm not into the whole metal kind of music, so i don't really use it. this amp gets 5 stars.

good bass amp

By jamman123

from Minneapolis, MN

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Backline 110 Combo:

When i got a bass and needed something louder than my old guitar amp, i got this. It is loud enough to practice with my band and to play at some local clubs. The distortion sounds bad, but the clean channell is good. I recomend this to anybody looking for a loud amp and is on a tight budget.
