Just purchased this bi-amp with a GK NEO 2x12 cab. FIRST cab I've ever had where I'm not breaking my back and can carry it by myself! For a traveling bassist this is KEY! The Amp is delicious! Once I dialed in and figured it out I get the sweetest warmest tones that accentuate everything I do from the solos, chords, and deep fat notes! Now I can single handedly make "the bass drop" by hitting that Low B string to add thump to the 3-piece sound I rock with. I love the warm punchy tone I dialed into for the highs and some slap. The in the same configuration I get an extraordinary deep/fat/low/growl from my lows. This Amp head really is the best on the market for beginner to intermediate bassist for the money. Hands down. Should've bought this amp years ago.
This head never ceases to amaze me. Whether you play rock, punk, country, jazz, or whatever, this amp kills. Go from smooth to punch, and the sound still holds up perfectly.
This is a good investment,I have had this amp for about 3 years. It has never failed me.It is tough powerful and dependable,it has paid for itself many times. It will max out a 4x10 cab at half volume.Plenty of headroom.I would not even consider buying another brand of amp.You get your money"s worth with GK,you aren't just buying a name you are buying Quality and Reliability.Everyone I play with loves this amp ,it sounds great when used with a bass, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar. It works great with all styles of music. It is the cornerstone of my success as a bass player, even my more experienced competition went and bought one after they heard mine.
This amp is absolutely amazing. When shopping at GC, this amp clearly had more punch and more power than the rest. After shopping for heads for almost a year this one was clearly better than the rest. It is not too expensive and is great for all kinds of music. GK has always been reliable and durable and this is defiantly both. GREAT AMP!
Though not as light as some of the class D/switching power supply amps, the 700RB-II has a deserved reputation for ruggedness and reliability. Sound has GK character...now I know what that means. Huge range of tones you can dial up. Bi-amp feature extends that possible diversity by adding unparalleled control of highs from the horn with the separate amp channel. I use with GK Neo 212-II....it simply rocks the place. Also plays very true sound at low volume. A mini-rig of doom!
After some careful shopping, I decided on this head and the NEO 410 cabinet. I am in my 50's, have a bad back and want the best sounding/most easily handled bass amp around. Owned Ampeg in the past and loved them, but can't move those big cabs. Bottom line: the sound and features blew me away. My lead guitarist is running a 100w Marshall head to 4X12s, and I can compete with him and the acoustic drums with the gain BARELY advanced. Thick bass, singing treble, growling grind, all there in this head. Our drummer and guitarist were blown away by the tone and power at a low volume. I have no idea what is sounds like at half volume, I'm afraid to find out. If we end up doing a lot of outdoor shows I MIGHT add the 1x15 NEO cab..but only if the other guitarist adds on. No need with this baby. I went with a larger head vs. the lightweight one as it appears it's too easy to "walk away" one night in a bar.
The GK700RB gives an outstanding thump for a decent price. You'll never have to turn it up past half volume, because if you do, people will drop to their knees in awe. I use it with the GK Backline 115 and 210 and it's got outstanding highs and lows that can be toyed with using the tweeter/woofer knobs. It's a great buy for medium sized bands/gigs.
This is a great head. I play medium sized venues and I'll never turn it up more than half way before I drown out the two guitarists. The value is great for the money. This is a really powerful head.
I've had this head for a couple of years now and it has never failed me. i've toured extensivly with it and never had any problems. i highly recomend this to anyone
Great amp. I cant believe the headroom. Great tone. All the knobs work smooth as silk, quality is outstanding. I should have looked into these along time ago. I went to buy a 400RB IV which wasnt in stock, "Dave" the salesman at the Dayton store was very apologetic about not having what I wanted, and made me a great deal on the 700RBII. I will be going back. Thanks Dave.
