If you need portability, this is it

Comments about Gallien-Krueger 210 MBE II 2x10 Bass Cab:

Before I bought this cabinet, I tried out the GK combo amp with the same speakers at a guitar center and was impressed with the clear smooth lows and punch. I thought it was every bit as good as an older SWR workingman pro 210 combo I tried at the same time. Since I already have a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2 amp (3.7 lbs!) I decided to buy the GK cabinet (32 lbs!). I live on a boat in Mexico for the winters and portability was key. No way to schlep a 70 to 90 lb amp to and from the boat in a dinghy. Further, I have to hand carry the rig to practice or gig. As for the sound, haven't had a chance to really open it up. Just using for quiet rehearsals with an acoustic band - no drummer. So, I'll have to wait to see how well it performs cranked up in a medium size bar setting. For now, I can say I love the sound and the fact that I can actually lift the thing without pulling something!
