The Neo 212 is simply awesome. It puts out the lowest, fattest, fullest low-end with tight, clear and punchy highs. I've never played a speaker cab with such a dynamic range. I highly recommend using a GK head...the 700RB is what I have. Another bonus is that it is pretty light and portable. I used to lug a 4x10 around...no more!!!
The GK 212 Neo is something of its own animal: it doesn't sound like 10's, nor does it sound like 15's. But taking this cab in its entirety, it's great.
It has a really good sound: it's beefy, but not so thick as a 4x10; it's deep and smooth, but not as barky as a 15.
The size, weight and power handling are the real tipping points. Easily handled by one person in and out of cars, this cab can actually be lifted with one hand, and it handles 600W (most amps don't even make that much). It comes with casters!
Another kicker: It's really efficient, which means it's LOUD.
Unless you're looking for a really specific sound, the GK 212 Neo is a fine cab, well-built, and definitely worth the money.
Agonized over this choice...picked this over the Mesa PH212 because of the lower weight and price....both are great cabs, GK Neo 212 is a better buy with no compromise on results. Heftier lows than the 10's, stronger mids and high mids than 15's. I use with a GK 700RB-II....simply awesome and the bi-amp feature gives very controllable highs. Speakon cable avoids mixups with 1/4" instrument cables.
