awesome amp

I've owned one of these GK700RBs for a couple years and it's given me no problems at all. Sounds great biamped with GK cabs or through an 810 monster. The only thing I dislike about it is that the fan vent is on the top of the case so you need to use 3 spaces to rack it, otherwise A+

I just bought a GK700RB II

Great amp. I cant believe the headroom. Great tone. All the knobs work smooth as silk, quality is outstanding. I should have looked into these along time ago. I went to buy a 400RB IV which wasnt in stock, "Dave" the salesman at the Dayton store was very apologetic about not having what I wanted, and made me a great deal on the 700RBII. I will be going back. Thanks Dave.

Great

This is a great head. I play medium sized venues and I'll never turn it up more than half way before I drown out the two guitarists. The value is great for the money. This is a really powerful head.

Reliable, Full Tone Amp

I play everyday with my 700RB-II. I had a 800RB (nice but COMPLETELY unreliable), and a 1001RB-II 210 combo. The RB series is reliable, and sounds great. The amp does one tone really well and has a tone of EQ'ing options. It won't sound like an overdriven SVT. It will sound like a GK fat, round, cutting, popping, jazz, rock, or pop universal loaded with character amp. I tried preamps with power amps and diffent combos (solid and tube). I kept coming back to the GK when the others failed. This is my only bass amp recommendation. Cabinets? GK are made to work with their amps so you won't be disappointed. SWR Henry sounds good, Eden and Ampeg are not so good.
