The 2001RB Amplifier Head is Gallien-Krueger's big gun with 2 - 500W woofer amps bridgeable to 1000W and 2 - 50W horn amps. It is capable of getting the deep, floor-shaking, warm sound that powers reggae bands. For rock players it features a special design distortion circuit that lets you quickly dial in the perfect growl and drive, and which automatically mutes the horns when the high-gain channel is activated. For funk players, its voicing filters and biamp controls let you scoop the mids and add the perfect high-end edge needed for popping. For any style of music performed on arena stages, the 2001RB is the amp of choice for top professionals.

I previously owned the 2000 and it literally burned on stage back in circa 2000 during a Halloween gig which the audience thought the sparks were part of the show. I later realized the cause of the flames was the amp had virtually no cooling system. Through many conversations, Bob Gallien personally listened to my recommendations and with my advice he redesigned the 2001RB cooling system afterwhich my 2000 was replaced by the 2001RB moreover, he confidently dared me to put it through the test. I was told... and I believe that I have the first 2001RB off the assembly line and as of today it's still a workhorse with power to spare. My band has been playing virtually every weekend for 9 years so with pride, I recommend this amplifer to anyone who's looking for a reliable product and one that will offer the ultimate bass projection. You may contact me at hrbomback@hotmail.com if you have any doubts!
A hot rod red 1957 chevy, like a tube amp, projects style, coolness, and tone. I'm cool enough already, as for tone, just try plugging into ANY Gallien-Krueger bass amp and I dare you to step to me about tone only coming from tubes. My G&K 2001 RB head is a thunder machine! Not a 57' Chevy, more like a Honda fueled by a space shuttle rocket engine! It screams modernity but delivers the power, tone, and reliability I've always craved. The price hurt, but that's life, you get what you pay for. After reselling my amps and pawn shopping for years, I finally found Valhalla in this Gallien-Krueger monster. My neighbors can go ahead and cry! Oh yeah, I recommend a big cabinet with high powered speakers with the 2001 RB head, it melted the speakers in my 2-15" cabinet. The only down side, and it's really petty, was that one of the knobs was slightly lose, kind of annoying but when I plugged her in, the sound killed any doubt.
I picked this amp up used off of ebay and I was more then blown away. My tone has NEVER been this strong. The lows are thunderous and the highs pop. She strikes fear into the hearts of men and melts the skirts off of the ladies. Ok lets be serious now. I play in a hard rock/metal band and was always under the assumption that GK rigs were more geared toward funk musicians but this thing really kicks. I've never had a crisper or cleaner sound but it still sounds very angry and rattles the walls. I run it through a 4x10 and 1x15 mesa cabs. The only complaint I have is that it weighs a ton but I've got it in a road case so it's not a big deal. I recommend you play the 2001RB and never look back.
