  • SMALL PRICE FOR GREAT HEAD!

As reviewed by Rinos88 on 9/26/2009

This amp packs all of the power you'll probably ever need. I've been an Ampeg fan for years, took an Eden endorsement for a while, but this head has completely won me over to GK. It is EXTREMELY loud! The tone punches like a battering ram and if coupled to one of the GK Neo cabs, will annihilate both of your guitarists if they get too loud. This is the last head I'll ever need to buy. Very warm and tight sounding. Only gripe is that the effects loop is on the front instead of the back.

  • Ampeg Killer

As reviewed by Sylvester" Snap" Andrews on 8/4/2008

I use to play only Ampeg equipment. Now after playing a GK 1001 RB head with two 1-12 cabs. I'm convinced that the GK is priced better than the SVT-4 with more watts. I love the quick response the 1-12 cabs give. The deliver the cleanest highs and stage shaking lows. I play with four different bands in New Orleans. They all love my tones I get from my GK rig. I play old school, smooth jazz, gospel, and some rock. I have opened shows for Earth,Wind & Fire, Peabo Bryson , played with Ronnie Laws, Lionel Hampton among countless others. You have to keep a good edge in a town full of good basss players. GK is keeping me on top. Very satisfied.

  • power 2 spare

As reviewed by EP on 5/23/2010

it took me a while to get to this review but there was a lot of trial and error. ampeg cabs, swr, hartke, peavay and something was missing. this was confusing because my hartke ha3500 sounded great thru ampeg and swr cabs. after fustrated gigs and practices i've seen the light. GK head, GK cabs. so no more settling for 'great' deals on used ampegs or swr and i dont have eden money. i've never heard anything thru my fingers like this. the 1001 rb was made to be bi-amped. i know some of you are saying 'da' but us bargin shoppers have to learn the hard way. anyway i finally dropped my 1001 rb atop a gk 115 neo, went bi-amp mode and as ray lewis would say 'wow' so i took my swr cabs and my old peavey 215 and said bye-bye and hello gk410 neo. i'm in bassplayer heaven. BTW for bassist there nothing more fulfilling than contempory gospel and hard quartet. you tone, definition, big bottom for slappin poppin fingerin runnin and even some tappin. the GK 1001 RB with almost any GK cab puts it down lastly if your on a budget try one of these with a 410 goldline you'll be surprised. there have been some good deals on these used as the previous owners give up on these. make there lost your gain. also 'sorry' i'm playing a hohner b bass 6 string, ibanez sr305 and squire vibe 70's delux tuned in d and oh how sweet a 4 string it is. grace and peace to all!
