The Fallout shares the original Leo Fender-designed SC-2 body shape, comfortable, sustain-rich G&L Saddle Lock bridge and easy-playing medium C-shape neck with a 12" radius and medium-jumbo frets. It comes with a great pairing of Paul Gagon-designed Alnico pickups: a gorgous P-90 and meaty humbucker splittable via a push/pull tone pot. The look transcends the SC-2's simplicity with a sweeping pickguard that complements the body shape perfectly. Balancing out the aesthetics is a sleeker interpretation of the ˜80s-era G&L headstock shape designed exclusively for the Fallout. Case sold separately.

Comments about G&L Tribute Fallout Electric Guitar:

Writing this the day I've got it, so of course the honeymoon phase is in full effect. Ordered it because I've been toying with the idea of wiring one of my guitars with a P-90 in the neck, and I've been interested in a good-sounding coil split -- and I found that this guitar's got both those things going on already.
Honeymoon or no, I'm really impressed with a lot of things about this guitar. Decent set-up out of the box -- needs some slight intonation adjustment and I'm going to lower the action at the bridge a bit on the bottom strings, and the action at the nut could be a little lower (but it's close, and I don't know if I'll bother), but the neck relief is just right and the intonation very close. The neck feels very good except the finish might benefit from a little sanding to take the stickiness away. The frets are decently dressed and there's only one spot where I get any buzz at all (at the 19th fret on the 2nd string, which is somewhere I rarely go anyway, and it's barely noticeable).
What I'm really impressed by is the tone, and particularly the neck P-90 and the coil split on the bridge humbucker. To me, it actually sounds better split than in bucker mode, where it could be more aggressive -- I wonder if the pup wasn't designed specifically with the intention of being split, as it sounds pretty close to the vintage bridge pickup on the vintage tele I've got with the tone pot pulled up. And it sounds good split and paired with the P-90 in the middle position. This might be the first guitar I've had where I like the sound of any paired pickup position as much as bridge or neck positions alone.
No complaints out of the box about the electronics, but will have to see how they hold up over time. They do feel a bit cheap, but that's expected given the price range. And the pick-ups exceed what I expected.

Top Shelf Quality at Half the Price

Comments about G&L Tribute Fallout Electric Guitar:

Ordered the G&L Tribute Fallout in Sonic Blue with maple fingerboard from the Nashua, NH store. Arrived a few days later and I couldn't be more pleased! Raised the E/B/G strings slightly to eliminate slight buzz; plays and sounds like a dream. It does everything a strat or tele can do and then some. Can't find a bad tone. Fine fit & finish. I've been playing close to 50 years and I highly recommend this guitar. And, if you don't like it you can return it! (but you won't want to put it down) I happened to have a case from an SC-1 that fit with minor modification (removed block inside). Get this bad boy a case or gig bag and you're in business.
