Bought this as a Stupid Deal of the Day and got a great deal. Almost returned it because the neck pickup wasn't placed properly so the 1st string sound was sounding pretty dead. I took off the pickguard and positioned the pickup properly and I was good to go. Great sounding pickups and the look and feel are great, too. Well worth the money!

I have owned 3 other G&L Tribute series guitars, and love them all. This ASAT limited edition however is a different story. It's a disappointment. The neck is a mess: most frets have have burrs, and the high E string slips off of the neck with slightest vibrato-bend. While it's still playable, it's not enjoyable.

The good: the tone is decent (I love G&L's pickups), and the guitar is cosmetically cool looking.

Overall, the guitar is not worth the money. I should have returned it, but haven't had the time to dedicate dealing with it. More than likely, I'll spend a bit more $$ to get the neck worked on, and will probably keep it solely for practice purposes. Shame on G&L - Leo would be rolling over in his grave if he knew of the poor quality.

Comments about G&L Limited Edition Tribute ASAT Classic Electric Guitar:

I was so looking forward to getting a great playing and sounding guitar based on the reviews I read.
Instead, after eager anticipation, I opened the box to find a guitar that had a poor setup, fret buzz, and scratch on the frets when I tried to bend notes. The neck fit to the body was sloppy with huge gaps as well. I really wanted this guitar to be a great find. Instead, I got a great disappointment. I'm sending it back before even plugging it in. Did I get a lemon, or is this representative of what G&L is making?

Comments about G&L Limited Edition Tribute ASAT Classic Electric Guitar:

This guitar met all of my expectation and exceeded many. I was on a pretty tight budge and was shopping both new and used market and I enjoyed this guitar the most out of pretty much every comparable guitar I could get my hand on. I even did blind tests with MIA and MIM Fenders. I would have had to spent double to get a Fender that felt as good as the G&L and it blew the squire line out of the water. I even had a had time telling the MII and MIA G&L's apart especially because they used the same pick ups. I will definitely be buying another G&L at some point in the future.

The body and its finish are quite good. Never had a satin matte finish neck before.Took a bit of getting used to, but the guitar is definitely a value at the sale price.

Got this on Stupid deal of the Day, so like, can't lose. It's 8 lbs which is over my threshold, so I play it sitting only. It's very comfortable and balanced so that's not a problem. I wanted a dedicated alternate tuning guitar for slide and this is it. It's in open G and I have a great time doing delta slide with it

After performing for years, I just play at home. This was a great guitar for my needs. It was set up pretty good from the factory, but did need some tweaking. I have other guitars but this one is fun for me to play.
