I bought this guitar on sale, but even for the regular price I think this is a good option for a telecaster. Fit and finish is as good as fender standard tele, but with this guitar you get a different neck shape and jumbo frets. I prefer the playability of this guitar to Mexican standard tele. This just has a more quality feel. The body is 3 piece but you really can't tell unless you inspect it closely. Very well done. The fret ends are smoother than any guitar I've played in this price range.

A couple cons - the guitar is on the heavy side even for a tele. 9lbs. Also, there is some dirt under the finish near the truss rod hole.

even though I got this on sale, I had very high expectations for this guitar. When I got it, besides the weight, I just didn't like the way the pickups sound. I'm sharing my experience in hopes that others may relate. I've owned probably 30 electric guitars over the past 20 years. It's only in the last 2 years since I've started playing professionally 2-4 times a week at varying volumes have I come to make pickup height adjustments. You always hear about setting up neck tension, action, but I feel like a lot less emphasis is put on pickup height. Even now I don't alway consider it immediately. I played the guitar for a few days with just a "meh" feeling. When I got around to lowering height of bridge pickup for output and balance, the guitar began to sing.

I really feel like g&l asat tributes are a great alternative to the fender standard tele due to their neck shape and frets.

It's dead sexy, sounds great. I'm gonna play it out tomorrow night.

Product overview and features state that this guitar has MFD pickups in the neck and bridge positions.
Purchased this guitar and the pickups are not MFDs.
Neck is smooth and body finish is nice. Body is made from three pieces of wood and there is a 1/16 inch gap between the neck and neck pocket on one side. Kind of disappointing.
Neck is satin finish and not glossy as stated in description. Considering returning this product due to gap in neck pocket and issue with pickups. MF needs to update the product overview and features to match the actual product.

Comments about G&L Limited Edition Tribute ASAT Classic Ash Body Electric Guitar:

I lead worship at my church with this guitar. I was shopping around similarly priced models and jumped on this Stupid Deal of the Day. Tones from warm mittens to tele twang. I lead in the middle position. G&L offers an answer to musicians wanting all around quality components without paying an arm and a leg. I personally love the brass saddles under each string. Great shaped neck. Love the vintage nod to the slab body T Style guitar.

The finish on this guitar is beautiful, but very thick and chipped significantly on the first drop. Doesn't bother me, though.

Comments about G&L Limited Edition Tribute ASAT Classic Ash Body Electric Guitar:

Bought this guitar about a month ago. Boy, what a mistake. When it arrived, I could not get the guitar to stay in tune long enough for a proper setup. I replaced the factory tuners and problem solved. I got the intonation perfect, strummed a chord, and assaulted my ears with a horrid sound. Something was horribly wrong. This guitar will not play a single chord anywhere on the neck without a massive amount of standing waves. I called MF and G&L and neither one will do a thing about it because I 'modified' the guitar changing the tuners. By that logic, you void your warranty by adjusting the saddles. The warranty says they will not cover modifications, not guitars that have been modified. The modified tuners are not the cause of the problem. After being stuck with no help, and a useless guitar, I took it to a Fender authorized luthier. He could not get anywhere with it, at least not without a ton of cash. The neck is a wreck. The nut isn't square to the frets, the frets are off for the scale it's setup for, and some of them are even angled as well. I've owned dozens of guitars, and this is without a doubt the only one I've had a problem like this on. The person I finally got in touch with at G&L was nice enough to email me back, where he felt it necessary to insult my intelligence and that of my luthier. Send me a correct neck and everything would be fine, but no. Never buying G&L again. I would give it no stars if I knew how.

Comments about G&L Limited Edition Tribute ASAT Classic Ash Body Electric Guitar:

I was immediately impressed by the playability and tone of this instrument. I was worried that there would be significant hum from the alnico pickups, but they sound great with the clean tone you would expect from a Tele-style guitar. Most of my guitars have rosewood fretboards, and this is my first maple. My only disappointment has been that the dots are stained on, not inlaid. So there is a slight bleed-through on the finish. Definitely does not affect the sound or playability.

Comments about G&L Limited Edition Tribute ASAT Classic Ash Body Electric Guitar:

Great G&L Product. The Frets needed cleaning up, but Zach, the Guitar Tech, at GC Little Rock did a great job of setting the guitar up and polishing the frets. I eased the edges of the fretboard with a brass rod. Now it feels and plays like my USA G&L Legacy Specials.

Pickups are not as 'hot' as the Rails on the Specials, but they are very clean and nice. This guitar is my first 'Tele'. I would purchase it again.

I will probably put Hipshot GLO Grip Lock Locking Tuners on it. But to have a guitar that is nice as the USA for just a bit more and less than $1000 than the USA is pretty good.

For what these are selling for, you will not find a better value in a Tele style guitar anywhere. Good to go right out of the box, too. Feels like a much more expensive instrument. No complaints here.

Good quality product, love the finish and natural wood look. Tunes very "smoothly" and plays very true all the way up and down the neck. I might consider changing out the bridge pickup with humbucker as that is a more "practical" choice for live performance IMO, otherwise very happy with this guitar.
