Comments about GHS Vintage Bronze 85/15 Acoustic Strings Ultra Light:

I have small hands and I'm getting old, so ultra light strings seem to be my best option in order to keep playing. I expected these to be thin sounding but they actually have a great tone. I have a wood bridge old Kay guitar and I actually like the tone of these strings best even compared to heavier strings. They are bright enough but not plinky. They are a bit less loud than heavier strings, however the heavier strings don't seem as lively and seem a little muddy. Granted I am using a wood bridge which is going to have a different tone than your average acoustic guitar. One other thing I notice about ultralight strings, since there is less tension the arc of the vibrating string is a larger. So you are apt to get buzzing on the open E if you don't raise the action a little. Overall very pleased with the strings, I keep trying other weights and types strings and I keep coming back to these over and over. Since I am putting a pickup in the guitar that should take care of the lesser volume. Hope this review is helpful to someone :-)
