Fantastic Strings

Comments about GHS GBCL Boomers Custom Light Electric Guitar Strings:

These are very good strings for the price. I started using these on my Fender Strat instead of the super bullets. These last longer and sound great.

Comments about GHS GBCL Boomers Custom Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been using these for years, ever since Dean Markleys became collectables. They're "just right". Bright, bold tone without that feel some strings have, like they're made by Snap-On Tools.

My style involves lots of bending, so I like the extra light tops, but it also involves fairly heavy pounding on the bottom that causes extra light 4/5/6's to be an intonation nightmare. Especially with a floating tremolo.

GBCL is the best of both worlds - stable bass, yet I can easily bend 3, maybe even 4 semitones on ANY string without hurting my aging fingertips, and certainly without worrying about breaking any string under a year old.

If these strings aren't the gauge for you, I'd still advise GHS. Forget those $12 and $15 strings - those are for people who think they'll make them play better.

Comments about GHS GBCL Boomers Custom Light Electric Guitar Strings:

Most of the guitars in the store have "10's", i.e. strings that run from .010 to around .046. I do a lot of bending. They kill my fingers. But "9's" (.009 to around .042) are so wimpy that my double locking Floyd Rose can't even keep them in tune. Enter the GHS GBCLs. The extra-light tops let me bend 3 or even 4 semitones, while the "merely" light bottoms keep things solid (and are still easy to bend). I've been using them for years, and now that they no longer stock them in stores, I guess I'll be getting all my strings online from now on. And did I mention that, all gauges aside, I'll take GHS over most any other brand?
