I used to try and find the cheapest set of flat wound strings for my fretless Fender Jazz Bass Special because of the cost of the strings. After I tried on a set of these strings, I'll never settle for anything less than a good set of GHS. these strings in light or extra light sound unbelievable on my fretless. If your finger tips are tough enough you'll get the kind of sound I'm getting out of my Jazz bass, which is punchy lows with some very bright attacks. You won't get the same bright brilliance that you would from super steels on a fretted bass, but who would put flat wounds on anything else but a fretless?
