The MDV Mini DejaVibe from Fulltone gives you the vintage experience of a '60s Univibe-you can't get more accurate than exact. The Mini DejaVibe delivers that dripping Phase-Chorused tone, the very same effect that made Jimi Hendrix's "Machine Gun" so epic. The Fulltone pedal comes in a beautiful vintage Cream color with maroon lettering on a sturdy 16-gauge steel housing that measures only 4" x 5-3/4".
Now it's tiny enough to fit on the most cluttered pedalboard, and because of the mini-DV's unique voltage doubling circuit, you can use any standard 18V adapter (one is included), and inside the MDV pedal the power is ramped up to the original Univibe's 18+ volts DC.
The mini-DejaVibe chorus pedal also has a mini-toggle switch to choose between Vintage and Modern settings, allowing for warm original Vintage '60s Univibe grind and louder, with more output (Modern setting).

Over the Years I have had several Fulltone Deja Vibes. A about 3-5 different Mojo Vibes, not to mention the Foxrox Aqua Vibe as well as the MJM 60s Vibe, and several Voodoo labs micro vibes. I was on a mission to find that tone that vintage warm murky, watery, dripping, uni vibe tone that has that throb yet still has that thickness and articulation in the notes so you can hear it cut through the mix. Not overly dark or overly bright. As a reference I used Machine Gun and Bridge Of Sighs. I read on Fulltones site about the process Mike Fuller went through to get these newer version dejas dialed in with the new photo cells hes using now and all I can say is he nailed it. This is the most organic sounding vibe I have heard in a long time. It has a rich character too it. Its very smooth and warm really watery and the throb is perfect. When I bought this I have to admit I was thinking I will try it out and probably not like it and end up returning it. I am glad I was wrong! My search for the perfect vibe is over I just found it. It aslo stacks well with other pedals I ran a MJM London fuzz into it and a Ramble Fx Marvel drive after it and its sounds authentic just like the uni vibes on the records I grew up on! It dont get any better then this.. This pedal is the real deal. Faze
In my honest opinion, this is definitely one of the best Uni-Vibe pedals you can get within this price range. It truly gives you the real vintage sound captured by Robin Trower and Jimi Hendrix. All of the Deja Vibe pedals use the proper components and circuitry as that of the original '60s Uni-Vibe unit. There are still 4 photocells enclosed in a mirrored square housing with a lamp. Therefore, this definitely produces the best "period correct" sound. One of the greatest features I love about this Mini Deja Vibe is it can simply be powered via a 9V DC adaptor. I believe Mike Fuller may have designed the circuit with a voltage regulator or a voltage doubler circuit that can cause the 9V supply to be stepped up to a high enough voltage to drive the lamp. Also, the speed knob works wonderfully, and Mike Fuller designs his own reverse taper dual-gang potentiometers for the speed controls, just as the original '60s units used. All in all, these pedals are FANTASTIC. Even having the versatility of the Vintage/Modern switch is rather great. I am such a huge fan of Trower, and this pedal is a MUST HAVE!
This unit is excellent! It's much better than I really expected. The Fulltone people went to a lot of trouble to make this good, and it is! Mike Fuller spent a lot of time repairing old UniVibes and he knows them better than probably anyone left. With the DejaVibe, he set out to recreate the old sound with modern materials and components for reliable use at much less expense. this pedal really lives up to its claims, and it's all US made. I'd recommend this highly if you want they classic sound.
The Fulltone Univibe is everything it's played up to be-- great tone and headroom. The photocell circuit is the only way to accurately get this sound, and the unit does this in spades. The pulsating LED can also be used to dial in the perfect tempo for the best effect. The "vintage mode" is exceptional in it's beautiful and round sound, and has wonderful clear headroom. The effect is subtle yet effective. The "modern mode" is equally effective and unique since again the photocell circuit is not your typical chorus (chip) sound: analog and very open. Worth every penny!
Not impressed. The tremolo is good but the chorus doesn't do it for me with this pedal. Sure, it's very classic and all. If I turn any of the modulation settings past 1 it totally washes out my sound.
If you're looking for an all in one effects box to reproduce a good univibe sound, you're not gonna find one. If you're looking for the real thing, then buy this pedal.. It's THE authentic tone you're after. Don't waste your time and money with anything else. It's worth the money if you're serious about your tone and effects. Enough said.
I'd been using a Line 6 MM4 to try and get an authentic Univibe sound, but it always came out brittle and swooshy. I finally bought this pedal and viola! Wow! Twist a couple knobs and instant Trower and Hendrix. Smooth and watery - full of nice fat tone. The Speed knob is big enough to change with your foot. 60's, blues, SRV, Trower and Hendrix. There is no better companion for a mildly overdriven Strat than a Deja Vibe. It will be on my pedalboard forever.
