Takes the old tones of a classic tape echo and makes them even better.

It used to be that no delay could quite replicate the natural, warm, and shimmery tones of an old Echoplex tape echo-enter the Fulltone TubeTapeEcho, or TTE. Old tape echoes used to be noisy and unreliable, but the Fulltone TTE is dead quiet and features revamped electronics, tape transport path, and even the tape cartridge itself to near-overkill, producing less noise than most delay pedals. The TTE effect pedal can provide anywhere from a quick slapback to over 2 seconds of delay time. There is a top-panel-mounted, dual-speed toggle switch to choose between Hi-Speed and Lo-Speed operation. Hi-Speed gets you lots of Highs, less Bass, and a True Repeat without the Pitch variation of the old Echoplex. Lo-Speed is warm, with lots of Bass, less highs, and a slight "warble" that imparts a natural chorus.

Fulltone TTE Delay Effect Tube Tape Echo Features:

  • Servo-controlled, high-torque DC motor is quieter than the big AC motors of yesteryear
    2 x 12AX7 tubes at 200V DC. Erase/Bias section function uses 1 x Electro-Harmonix 12AT7
    Handwired audio path
    Stereo outs, 3 stereo modes
Proprietary, custom-made Erase, Record, and Playback tape heads
    Fulltone ETC-1 Tape cartridge
    Nickel-plated, stainless steel parts
Echo Tone Control—you can alter it to as vintage as you want a Tone control, affecting only the repeats

  • The Best Delay You Could Own

As reviewed by Erik Nordlund on 6/11/2010

Everything you've heard about this delay is true. It gives you the best tape delay sounds you could ever want, and it's built like a tank. Aside from the standard tape echo downsides such as maintenance, the only problem to me is the price, and that's why I gave it 4 stars. To warn people who aren't aware, a tape echo in general takes a lot of maintenance and work aside from playing, and obviously they are a little pricey. I suggest that if you want that sound you might want to try a good digital delay like the TC Electronic Nova Delay, but if you really want the sound of a tape echo, this is the one to get.

  • Delay of all Delays!!!

As reviewed by Jarid on 6/4/2010

Ok so i bought this delay about two weeks ago and it is simply by far the most amazing delay i have ever used!! It took me a few hours to get the hang of it and to achieve the sounds that i wanted but it so worth it! To have the big delay sound that everyone talks about is so awesome! It is a little pricy but for what you get in return is worth it! Best delay ever!!

  • Fulltone TTE Delay Effect Tube Tape Echo

As reviewed by Ryan on 6/8/2010

this is the rolls royce of delays, it's a tape delay a real tape delay and tubed. what invented the delay was using tape heads and slowing it down so forth. there have been others before small built tape machine just for delay like the copycat but they dont make them any more and good luck finding one. if you want to play with the big dogs you have this delay. and its made by fulltone so you know its built to last.
