Vintage tremolo meets modern innovation.

Fulltone Supa-Trem Model ST-1, one of the finest amp-style Tremolo pedals on the market since its debut in 1996, just got a whole lot better. It's now also an incredible sounding clean boost!

For years people have been turning the ST-1's Mix knob down all the way, opening the pedal, and turning up its internal volume control to maximum, and using the Supa-Trem as a very subtle clean boost. Now Fulltone added a low-profile Volume knob on the outside of the pedal, and increased its available gain to around 15dB... allowing the ST-1 to pull double duty as a stellar clean boost. One reason the Supa-Trem sounds so good is that it uses a wonderful Analog Devices JFET AD711JN at the heart of its circuit, giving you a warm yet clear tone when your pedal is turned on.

The ST-1 also employs a custom-designed Fulltone Opto-1 photocell with an extremely fast recovery time which no other manufacturer can match. This makes it behave just like an old 1960's American tube-amp, but without the annoying ticking sounds that plague amps and other tremolo pedals. The Supa-Trem is the most versatile tremolo on the market, sporting True-Bypass with Blue On/Off L.E.D. and a Red Rate L.E.D. showing your speed at all times (even when pedal is Off) so you can drop right into the song at the correct tempo.

With the ST-1's large Rate and Mix knobs you can fine-tune on-the-fly with your foot. The Speed footswitch correctly halves or doubles your tempo so you stay rhythmically-correct with the tempo of the song you're playing!

Finally, there's a Hard/Soft footswitch for choosing between Soft Mode (a rollicking sine-wave) or Hard Mode, which is more of a square-wave machine-gun stutter. There's an internal trimmer to fine-tune the current reaching the Photocell to change feel of the waveform, although we recommend leaving it where we set it so you have the ability to turn down the Mix control and not hear any tremolo when using as a clean boost.

  • Trem Tall Buildings with a Supa Sound

As reviewed by The Juicephonics on 6/6/2010

Purchased about a month ago at a GC store. Was looking for the Seymour Duncan "Shape Shifter" Tremelo pedal, didn't have it, so I came home with this and love it. This is my first Fulltone pedal and now I see what all the fuss is about. It is the TONE! Excells at the vintagey amp vibe thing and the kill switch pulsing thing too. You don't ever have to bypass this pedal. Just put it at the end of your signal chain and when you don't want tremelo just pin the mix knob to zero and the pedal is like adding melted butter to the recipe right before you take it off the stove. This is suggested in the little owners manual and I'm digging it. This simple old school effect can be inspiring with this pedal. Worth the money if you can pop for it.

  • Best Tremolo Ever Made!

As reviewed by Jason on 5/19/2010

I'll tell ya, I did the experimenting for you. I am a tone freak, and played almost every tremolo pedal out there and this was the last one I ever bought. I find a lot of Fulltone's pedals making their way onto my pedalboard because this company builds quality pedals. If this pedal was stolen, I would immediately buy a new one. It has just a rich sounding Trem that you can't find anywhere except on a vintage Fender amp. The rate control is very versitile, from machine gun to slow swirls. Really great for experimenting with new sounds or hitting the right tones on the classic rock tunes. A bit spendy, but it will last a lifetime and it is worth every penny, you will not be sorry buying this pedal.

  • Best Tremolo On The Market

As reviewed by Steve Soria on 3/8/2014

Hands Down, This is the best tremolo for the money! You really do get more than what you pay for. It keeps your tone pure and intact. The clean boost knob really helps for when you use the hard tremolo to help level out the natural tendency for all tremolos to lose volume. I tried out the voodoo lab tremolo, Black Cat Mini Trem, Boss Tremolo, and the Diamond Tremolo. This one beat out the others because it was the most natural sounding and one of the most versatile. Also, this pedal lets you change settings on the fly like 1/2 speed and hard/soft. Looks sexy, and built like a tank. However, my only recommendation is to get the one with the volume knob on the outside of the pedal. It makes life a lot easier. Get it! You won't regret it!
