Authentic vintage Univibe sound in a pedal that'll save space on your board.

Real estate is precious, especially on your pedalboard, but the lush organic sounds of a perfect "authentic vintage Univibe clone" are a necessity, and they are now attainable in a space now smaller than a standard wah wah pedal... the Mini-Deja'Vibe3 (MDV-3 for short).

The MDV-3 features a Hammertone Blue powder coated finish, white lettering, and a blue LED that throbs to the beat of the pedal's hypnotic, asymmetrical rhythm. It has a new heel or toe activated True-Bypass footswitch that is perfect for the person who rarely changes speeds and just wants to turn it on or off with his toe, but also perfect for the person who rides it like a gas pedal and wants to turn the pedal on/off with a simple flick of the heel.

In typical Fulltone fashion, they also manufacture their own speed potentiometer. It's a dual pot with a gear on it like wah-wah pot, and with a special taper (same as original Univibes). The only change made is Fulltone upped the resistance to 200K to get you better slow speeds, and double screen the carbon composition track to last years beyond what the old ones lasted.

Fulltone MDV3 Mini DejaVibe 3 Vibe/Chorus Pedal w/Foot Controlled Speed Features:

  • Input and output jacks
    Intensity and Volume knob
    True Bypass ON/OFF footswitch
    Speed/Status LED
    Chorus/Vibrato switch
    Modern/Vintage switch
    Includes 18V power supply unit

  • This Is An Invisible Leslie!!!

As reviewed by Karl on 6/16/2014

This is the real thing (Fulltone started making these for Trower when UniVibes became hard to find). It even does the real slow speeds better than the Uni; you can make the dancers dizzy with this thing! It's so much less *overbearing* an effect than your phase shifter/flanger/chorus; with one toggle on 'Vintage' and the other on 'Vibrato' it gives straight-up Leslie-whirl, and the foot pedal changes 'horn speed'...easy on-off without having to undo your speed-setting by heeling or toeing the pedal--there's a separate dimmer switch by the side of your heel. Very nice. Blue LED on the side pulses the current horn speed, but the fact is your 'out' cord will cover it up (unless you use a straight cord-end, which pretty much means it's not going on your pedal, there's that). It will go over the 'Intensity' and 'Volume' knobs, as well. Here's another thing: this unit is 'small' compared to, say, a wah or exp pedal, but it's not ~small~! If your pedal board's crammed already, you'll have to take off two pedals to make room for this--not just one. Mine's the full-sized Pedal Train frame with 9 devices--3 of them large (Q-Tron, Dual delay, and Vol JR). So with a full board (half of it goes to the front of my amp, the modulation and time effects are in the FX Loop..except the Q-Tron) and the previously-noted awkward placement of the In and Out jacks, I put this Deja-Vibe in the loop; it has plenty of room on the floor NEXT TO my pedal board, as the last device before "EFX Return". This allows me to use a straight cord Out so I can see the LED, adjust Intensity easily, etc. This comes with a wall-wart, by the way; I plugged mine into my VooDoo Lab Power Plus 2 'courtesy' 110v socket (along with the Q-Tron's) under my board. Fortunately, this pedal and its 110v ps fit in my pedal board's side pocket, so I *kind of* put it on my pedal board. Its right next to it forever. I can't get over how great it sounds; the 'Chorus' setting and 'Vintage/Modern' toggle might suffice to replace your flanger/phase shifter, too, who knows?! Remember that real slooooow Little Wing in the boxed set 'Jimi Hendrix: Stages'? This unit NAILS that dark warble.....It's quite possible that this pedal is too cool for you (there; I said it!), and if you suspect that may be the case, perhaps you'd be better off with one of those 2-knob units like the BBE or the VooDoo Lab--they cost half what this real one does (and those ones *will* fit on your pedal board). If you try one of these first, though, I bet you'll fall in love with your new sonic spectrum and keep it. This is another real ear-tickler from Fulltone, and my new favorite pedal.

  • The Best Uni-Vibe Clone On The Market

As reviewed by Robert Brodie on 1/10/2014

The Deja-Vibe MD3 is the best Uni-Vibe clone on the market hands down. This thing is the real deal and every detailed is nailed. It has plenty of throb or as subtle as you like,It's built like a tank and if you take the cover off the bottom you can see all the meticulous workmanship by the Fulltone Custom Shop. Hendrix, Trower, Gilmour are all achievable in this pedal. Worth every penny.
