Fulltone Fulldrive2 MOSFET Overdrive/Clean Boost Guitar Effects Pedal (475963)
Availability:

Precise tonal control on a 2-channel overdrive.

Housed in a beautiful, powdercoated blue 16-gauge steel enclosure, the Fulltone Ful-Drive 2 pedal is capable of everything from clean boost to raw, non-compressed overdrive via its two switchable channels. With Volume, Tone, Overdrive, and Boost knobs along with toggle switches for selecting Vintage/CompCut modes and MOSFET/Standard overdrive styles.

MOSFET and Standard modes each deliver their own clipping style, with the MOSFET adding more bottom end and roundness to the sound. The pedal's Tone knob is an effective presence control that can smooth out or add upper harmonics. Vintage mode provides a traditional midrange bump.

The second, footswitchable Boost channel, with its own separate distortion control, is perfect for medium- to higher-gain overdrive with a more singing, violin-like sustain.

Named the Best Stompbox of 2006 by Guitar Player magazine, it'll do great things for your sound.

Fulltone Fulldrive2 MOSFET Overdrive/Clean Boost Guitar Effects Pedal Features:

  • Offers clean boost and overdrive via two channels
    Durable, 16-gauge steel enclosure
    Volume, Tone, Overdrive, Boost controls
    Selectable Vintage/CompCut and MOSFET/Standard modes
    True bypass

  • Amazing!

As reviewed by Doug on 9/18/2009

This is the best overdrive pedal on the market. No questions about it. I've been looking for the perfect match of amp and OD pedal for years and years - amp ODs, while they sound amazing, just always lacked something to me, while pedals always sounded harsh and brittle or dark and muddy. Until one of my friends played a gig and I saw him use this pedal through his Fender Bassman Reissue. It sounded soo good, I had to try it out myself. I play a lot of different styles - blues, jazz, rock, even a little metal and shred. It leaves a little to be desired for metal playing, but in a pinch, it works. I'm still keeping it the rating at 5 stars, because this pedal was NOT designed for metal playing. However, for everything else, you get gorgeous, transparent tone, clean articulation, and a wide range of customization options to get your own tone. I've played this through VOX's, Fenders, a Mesa Boogie Dual Rec, a Marshall, and a couple Bogners - it sounds absolutely fantastic. I play live most of the time thought a Line 6 POD X3 Live, and it sounds amazing in front of that. Typical settings (based on AM/PM): Vol: 11a, Tone: 11a-1p, depending on the amp and venue, OD: 1p for main playing, about 9a-10a for cleaner, bluesier tones, and keep the boost cranked when I need it. If I need a little more drive than the boost can give off, I use a Keeley-modded DS-1 right after this pedal as more of a slightly dirty boost, and it kicks it up as far as I would ever need. Would I replace this product if stolen? In a heartbeat. I won't play anywhere without my Fulldrive. I can live without the Fulltone Fat Boost and the DS-1 and some other pedals I have, but not this one. This is a TONE MACHINE.

  • Flawless

As reviewed by Henry on 3/17/2010

I got this as a Christmas present, and I can't remember one single where I've played through an amp at home without this. It's absolutely amazing. I play classic rock and blues with a Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded Mahogany through a Fender Blues Junior Tweed. The tone on this is extremely transparent, only adding a huge, overdriven sound to my clean tone. You can even get awesome hard rock tones if you use this as a booster for your cranked amp. It's got all the drive I'll ever need. I've got a new favorite brand.

  • Excellent versatility and tone

As reviewed by Henry on 11/17/2010

I got this as a Christmas present last year. Immediately upon getting, I knew it was great pedal. Recently however, (as I have improved a lot over the last year) this has proven to be way more versatile than I originally thought. The vintage mode is an instant trip to great classic overdrive tones, sounding just as good as any other "Plexi in a box". It sings with great, warm drive that is given new life with the boost function. The FM mode is great if you already have the right base amp tone and you need something really transparent. While standard gives you a great drive on its own, the Mosfet switch is when things really kick in, giving you great, bottom end responsive and complex tones. At last Comp Cut mode is a total trip. It can give you a great clean boost just as good as any other. However, if you bring up the overdrive and volume knobs, it begins to sound just shy of fuzz territory, conjuring up gritty Hendrix fuzz tones. This is truly a remarkable overdrive with an array of simply awesome tones. I highly recommend it to any blues or rock player that wants great tone.
