It used to be that no delay could quite replicate the natural, warm, and shimmery tones of an old Echoplex tape echo-enter the Fulltone TubeTapeEcho, or TTE. Old tape echoes used to be noisy and unreliable, but the Fulltone TTE is dead quiet and features revamped electronics, tape transport path, and even the tape cartridge itself to near-overkill, producing less noise than most delay pedals. The TTE effect pedal can provide anywhere from a quick slapback to over 2 seconds of delay time. There is a top-panel-mounted, dual-speed toggle switch to choose between Hi-Speed and Lo-Speed operation. Hi-Speed gets you lots of Highs, less Bass, and a True Repeat without the Pitch variation of the old Echoplex. Lo-Speed is warm, with lots of Bass, less highs, and a slight "warble" that imparts a natural chorus.

Everything you've heard about this delay is true. It gives you the best tape delay sounds you could ever want, and it's built like a tank. Aside from the standard tape echo downsides such as maintenance, the only problem to me is the price, and that's why I gave it 4 stars. To warn people who aren't aware, a tape echo in general takes a lot of maintenance and work aside from playing, and obviously they are a little pricey. I suggest that if you want that sound you might want to try a good digital delay like the TC Electronic Nova Delay, but if you really want the sound of a tape echo, this is the one to get.
this is the rolls royce of delays, it's a tape delay a real tape delay and tubed. what invented the delay was using tape heads and slowing it down so forth. there have been others before small built tape machine just for delay like the copycat but they dont make them any more and good luck finding one. if you want to play with the big dogs you have this delay. and its made by fulltone so you know its built to last.
If you dont have the resources to own your own tape machine, but want to replicate the natural delay of using tape, buy the TTE Effect Tube Tape Echo. It is one of the best pieces of equiptment that i have ever heard, to basically replicate a natural tape machines delay and echo. Not only does it replicate it almost exactly, but you can tweak how much delay you want, up to 2 seconds. And wow, when i tried this thing it was SO quiet, basically no noise. Compared to old tape machines noise was always an issue. If you are looking to purchase anything like this, just get this one, the TTE Delay effect tube tape echo. This here is the best out there.
I loved my old Echoplex for the great tape analog delays it produced. Yeah it was a bit noisy, but the great sound it helped create made that easy to overlook. When the motor died, I was seriously disappointed that a replacement wasn't available. That's when I decided to buy the Fulltone TTE. At first I thought this would be a second rate "knock-off" or "copycat" of the Echoplex, but boy was I wrong - it's better! In part due the tubes (which my Echoplex did not have), better tape path and improved circuitry, the sound it produces is gorgeous. Yeah it is somewhat pricey, but this unit is built like a tank with sounds from heaven. You won't be disappointed - it's worth it !
Ok so i bought this delay about two weeks ago and it is simply by far the most amazing delay i have ever used!! It took me a few hours to get the hang of it and to achieve the sounds that i wanted but it so worth it! To have the big delay sound that everyone talks about is so awesome! It is a little pricy but for what you get in return is worth it! Best delay ever!!
