Fulltone 70-BC Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal (H73549)
Availability:

Fulltone's 70-BC returns in an OCD-sized enclosure!

Thanks to a recent find of a couple thousand excellent BC108C transistors, Fulltone is happy to announce the return of the 70 Fuzz pedal, this time in a small (OCD-sized) housing. These transistors sound outrageous, and the resulting 70-BC Fuzz pedal still has the secret-weapon "Mid" knob which will allow you to do something other Fuzzfaces won't let you do—be heard in the mix!

Ever played that legendary original fuzz from around 1970? If so, you know it's not the same sound as ones with the same namesake being mass-produced currently. The Fulltone 70-BC has two intentionally mismatched (for harmonic content) silicon transistors that snarl and spit—not for the meek! If you put the "Fuzz" on 10 you will rip, and you might get all sorts of oscillation and weirdness, but that's what rock is about, right? Don't try using it with a wah wah—you can't, and neither could Jimi, without it screaming and howling. You want polite and quiet? Sorry, you'll have to go elsewhere. You want art in a box? Come on in!

Housed in a 16-gauge steel box and powdercoated Deep Blue, the 70-BC pedal is a bit unruly but with some warmth, ideal for older, four-input Marshall amps, it has much more fuzz than the '69 Pedal and includes a Mid control for extra clarity and cut.

Specifications subject to change at any given moment due to parts availability and due to whimsy.

Fulltone 70-BC Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal Features:

  • Reissue of the Fulltone 70 fuzz in a smaller (OCD-sized) housing
Mid knob provides extra clarity and cut
    16-gauge steel enclosure
Ideal for older 4-input Marshall amps
Two BC108C transistors, intentionally mismatched for harmonic content

  • Great Fuzz

As reviewed by eric thompson on 11/18/2011

This is a great fuzz. It cleans up like no other fuzz i have had. You can set it with fuzz half way up and if you are strumming softly or litely you would not know it was on but become aggressive and it is full fuzz. It also changes drastically when you turn the fuzz up to about 9 o clock it becomes a different fuzz very over the top fuzz.

  • Not a Russion Buff

As reviewed by Todd Fraser on 3/14/2013

I bought it hoping that it could replace my Big Muff Pi Russian reissue. My big muff crapped out and instead of continuing to fix it I thought I'd look for a robust replacement. This pedal is not it, it sounds decent until I turn on my borrowed big muff. There really is no bottom end to this and there seems to be no way to adjust it in. I was obviously looking for a replacement for a pedal that I love so I may be biased one way but to me I want that heavy 90's chunk out of my fuzz pedal and this just does not to do that. I should note that I'm playing on a strat with a somewhat hot pickup that sits around 9K and that runs back to a Swart Atomic Space Tone. Maybe when I spend more time with it I'll find something to use it for. On the positive side it's built like a brick and I have no reservations about the quality of the pedal. Hope this helped.
