  • Love It!

As reviewed by Chris on 12/30/2009

i have owned my Sig: X for about a month now and am very pleased. This amp can create tones that range from country spank cleans, blues lead / rock, all the way up too metal. I run it thru a Meas stiletto 4x12 (vintage 30's) which gives me a very bright sharp cutting tone. While recording it I tried it thru a standard Mesa 4 x 12 as well as my Orange 4x12 (both vintage 30's) and it became a whole new animal, lower chunkier tones. Sounded great also. Try a few different cabs to suit your needs. A close comparison to a Mesa Dual Rect. for high gain tones, just a bit brighter and one less channel than the dual rect. Only complaint is that the clean channel is a little noisy, not hiss, just the standard tube sound you would expect from a gain channel (very minimal, I'm just picky). Bottom line.... No regrets and would recommend this to all style players, especially heavy rock to metal players. You wont be disappointed.
