NEW REVIEW - Great Hanger

Long story short, this hanger is the best I have ever used. If you are going to get this hanger, you mite want to stop by lows and get the "next size up" of screw, or just use a butterfly screw. This hanger is great for a guitar and sets far enough out from the wall for you to hand any guitar.

Needs Better Screws

Well I thought that this wall hanger would be a good one since Proline is a really good brand but when I drilled in the screws into the wall, they didn't reach the stud so I had to buy new screws because the original screws made my guitar collapse. I saved my guitar but I still had to get new screws.

Wow

I am amazed by this wall hanger. I wasn't too sure of wall hangers at first; I was afraid my guitar would drop, but it definintly won't with this hanger. It is easy to put in, I put it in after 2 minutes. For any guitar hanger you will need a drill to get it in all the way, though. I am not giving everything a '5' because it only supports 10 lbs. (My guitar's a little heavier; 12 lbs. to be exact) Just don't push the weight too far. The best buy for wall hangers.

Needs Longer Screws...

The ProLine GH1 Guitar hanger does not impress me as signifcantly better or worse than any others on the market. It mounts easily and protects the neck of your instrument as it hangs - just as you want and expect. However, if you are concerned about the security of the hanger, you want to ensure that the mounting screws bite into a stud. The enclosed screws are just barely long enough to clear the drywall and bite about 1/2" of wood - not enough to have made me comfortable. I grabbed some 1 1/2" #6 woodscrews and mounted the hanger directly into the stud. One advantage is that the mounting screw holes are top and bottom, not left and right, so you can get both screws solidly into the stud. That being done, I have no worries!

a little faulty

This does its job, I have 2. However, one of them didn't assemble due to poor manufacturing tolerances. If you have a Dremel or proper files, you can file the metal down so it will fit together. Once done it performs very well for both my acoustic and my Epi LP.
